We are committed to finding meaningful ways to engage with our local partners and stakeholders. We are pleased to share a Spanish translation of our recently published annual Sustainability Report covering our 2023 business activities, which can be found here https://lnkd.in/esgcyvim This version is intended primarily, though not exclusively, for our stakeholders in Chile. Highlights from the region during 2023 include: People and communities: Supporting people and communities is integral to the work we do at Nala. Our social engagement initiatives at our project in Arica have achieved positive outcomes for local communities and serve as a template for future project engagement in the country. Supporting the energy transition in Chile: We brought our first 17 MW of solar PV into operation. By the end of 2024, we expect to significantly increase the number of projects under construction and operation, further advancing the transition to clean power for Chilean businesses and communities. Climate resilience: We assessed climate hazards for our Chilean projects through to the 2050s using climate projection data from the CMIP6 run of the IPCC models for the SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 emission scenarios. Based on this assessment, we developed bespoke adaptation plans for each project. Nik Stone Enrique Ariztia Nordheimer #esg #decarbonisation #sustainability #renewables #arica

We are thrilled that construction work has begun on the Green Breeze 99.2MW (16*Vestas 162 6.2MW) wind park located in Galati, #Romania and to mark the occasion with a ground-breaking ceremony alongside our partners OX2. “We are delighted to mark this important milestone for one of Nala’s largest projects to date. We will be overviewing the construction and operation of this 99.2MW onshore wind park through our active construction and asset management teams. Romania is one of Nala’s core markets with a solid outlook for #renewables and an investment grade rated country with strong government support for renewables. This also contributes to Europe’s energy independence and goals towards a more sustainable future. This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our team and demonstrates our ability to secure contracted assets and capitalise on the increased demand for renewable energy power purchase agreements from multinational organisations. We look forward to continuing this momentum in the coming months in Romania and the broader #CEE region,” said Rémy VEROT, COO at Nala Renewables. Nala acquired the project in August this year with commissioning expected at the end of 2025. Green Breeze construction will be led by Ruben Sanchez Castro and is forecasted to produce 312GWh annually, representing the annual electricity consumption of an estimated 51,000 households and contributing to a reduction of about 150,000 tons of CO2 #emissions per year. #Galati #energy #wind #sustainability #renewableenergy #decarbonisation Panagiotis Bourtsalas Catherine Wu Vasco Bouça Vitorio Nedas Matulevicius Calum Adamson Angus Grant Anu Onifade Will Herlinger Chiara Princi Cindy Nasser Nik Stone

It was a pleasure working with such a creative and efficient team to publish Nala's first annual Sustainability Report. The end result is something the entire team is proud of and has set a very high bar for next year!

The renewable energy platform Nala Renewables has just published its very first #sustainabilityreport, & with my K-tiv colleagues Michael Berger & Pauline de Langre, I was privileged enough to help bring it to life ⚡⬇ Nala Renewables is a 50/50 joint venture between Trafigura & IFM Net Zero Infrastructure Fund & focuses on global #solar, #wind & #batterystorage projects, with a vision of 10GW in cumulative capacity by 2030. As Nala is a company that hit the ground running, we had the challenge of capturing a snapshot of their momentum since their foundation in 2020 – as well as communicating a first baseline of their ESG activities. Working closely with Nala’s ESG Director Nik Stone, we supported the process from kickoff through storyboarding to design development & editorial feedback, all the way to the final design, proofreading & translation of the English version into Spanish. We’re proud of the final result achieved by the Nala Renewables team, which stands as an important milestone in their journey, a baseline to measure against & a firm foundation upon which to build and grow sustainably. We are delighted to present our first annual Sustainability Report, covering our activities in 2023. This is an important milestone in the Nala journey that gives us a firm foundation upon which to continue to build the business. 2023 was very much about establishing our principles, practices and how our business strategy aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our highlights include: - Climate mitigation: Our operational projects produced around 24,000 MWh of zero-carbon-at-source power and we estimate that this served the equivalent of around 2,000 households and avoided around 13,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions. - People and communities: This is integral to the work we do at Nala, from our internal team to the communities in which we operate. We have introduced policies to ensure our diverse team are supported and undertaken social engagement work at our projects such as in Arica, Chile. Looking to the future, responsible investing principles will remain a core part of our strategy as the ESG landscape becomes progressively complex and stakeholder expectations increase. Sustainability reports, such as this, are important part of how we communicate our approach and achievements to our broad range of stakeholders. We are thrilled to announce that we have acquired a 99.2 MW onshore wind project from OX2, a leading company in the development and construction of renewable energy solutions active across Europe and Australia. The project is located in eastern-Romania and is expected to start construction during Q3 2024. The project will consist of 16 Vestas V162-6.2 MW™ wind turbines and is expected to be commissioned during the first half of 2026. It is expected to support Nala's contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals by generating around 312 GWh of clean energy per year, representing the energy use of around 51,000 households, as well as saving approximately 150,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions per year*. The deal reached by Nala with OX2 includes a 12-year PPA with a multinational corporate offtaker, negotiated and structured by both Nala and OX2, providing Nala with material revenue security. “We are very pleased to sign our first wind project with OX2 with whom we have built a long-term partnership over the past months. This is a flagship transaction for Nala and also demonstrates our ability to secure contracted assets and capitalize on the increasing demand for renewable energy PPA’s from multinational organizations”, said Rémy VEROT, COO of Nala Renewables. “We would like to thank OX2 for their efforts and co-operation during this transaction and we look forward to working with a suite of world-class partners to bring the project through construction and into operations,” said Panagiotis Bourtsalas, Investment VP at Nala Renewables.
