The year 5 students from St Joseph's Catholic Primary School were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit Plymouth Citybus as part of the Widening Horizons program. They were picked up in style on an open top bus and enjoyed a scenic journey through Plymouth. Upon arrival at the depot, the children were given a tour, getting behind the scenes looking at the various operations. They had the chance to interact with employees from different departments. including engineers, drivers, maintenance staff, service controllers, schedulers, and customer services. The students were amazed by variety of roles within the company. There were engaging activities and the day was filled with learning and fun, some students are now considering a future career with CityBus. A Big Thank You to Foot Anstey! Mount Wise Primary School had an unforgettable day hosted by the amazing team at Foot Anstey Solicitors. The Students had the opportunity to explore how law impacts our everyday lives, gaining valuable insights into the world of law. They also put their math's skills to the test in a fun and engaging post room activity, which was both educational and challenging. The day took an exciting turn as the students acted as secret agents, exploring the Foot Anstey offices and discovering the inner workings of the business. They also had the chance to interview staff members about their diverse roles. The students enjoyed a delicious corporate lunch in the boardroom. What a treat it was! Then the day was finished off by going up to the roof terrace to take in the breathtaking views of Plymouth. Well, what an absolutely fantastic session yesterday with St Peter's C of E Primary School and Nursery, Plymouth The children came along to one of our literacy based events, a Teddy Bears Picnic and got to meet our new Bear Milo! The children behave beautifully and Mrs Hutchinson came along with lots of helpers. Thank you to, the school, helpers and our trustee Janet for being involved. "Dear Keely I would just like to send a massive thank you to you, Janet and Milo the Teddy Bear. Our children had an amazing day. Some of them even wore their Christmas hats into school this morning. It was lovely to see them sharing books together and for each of them to be given a book as a present was very generous. We working hard to foster a love for reading in our children and I do feel this event has really supported the school in this mission. The children enjoyed the food and I even saw children eat the sandwiches that struggle to eat in school. They also tucked into the spare sausage rolls later. The hugs from Milo were just beautiful and the Santa hats at the end was great fun as I walked my "Little Santa's" back to school. Thank you so much.
