Do you have international customers paying by debit or credit card? 💱 If so, it’s time to understand Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and how it benefits both your customers and your business. Here are 5 key things to know: 1️⃣ What is DCC? Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) allows your customers to pay for goods and services in their home currency. For example: A US customer visiting the UK is presented with two payment options on the card reader or point of sale screen at checkout – one amount in GBP and another amount in USD. The customer can choose which currency they prefer. 2️⃣ Why is DCC important for customers? When travelling abroad, many customers use their debit or credit cards instead of cash or pre-paid foreign currency cards. However, this often comes with: ● Foreign transaction fees (a percentage of each transaction). ● Currency conversion fees, charged by banks or card providers. These costs can be unclear at the time of purchase, leading to surprises when customers see their card statements. 3️⃣ How DCC benefits your customers: ● Convenience: No need for mental currency conversions - prices are displayed in their home currency. ● Transparency: They know exactly what they’re paying in real-time, with no hidden fees. ● Better customer experience: It’s seamless, straightforward, and tailored to their needs. 4️⃣ The benefits for your business: ● Additional Revenue: You get a share in the DCC fee for every foreign transaction. ● Predictable Payments: Exchange rates are locked at the point of sale, ensuring you're never paid less than the GBP equivalent. ● Enhanced Customer Experience: Happier customers mean greater loyalty and repeat business. 5️⃣ Simple to implement with Lloyds: DCC is easy to add to your existing payment setup through Lloyds’ integrated or standalone point-of-sale solutions and works seamlessly on websites or in-person systems. Importantly, your transaction processing fees won’t increase when you add DCC with Lloyds. Take the first step toward smarter payments. Our Senior Economist Hann-Ju Ho discusses the latest Business Barometer on CNBC. A survey of 1,200 businesses monthly, which provides early signals about UK economic trends both regionally and nationwide, which has been running for more than 20 years. “These results suggest that while firms have mixed views about the economy, they see their businesses in a good place to cope with any challenges they might face. Hiring intentions, although moderating this month, haven’t fallen by much which is also positive news." Get the full lowdown in our latest report ➡️ https://lnkd.in/e-5YBQEu

Disabled entrepreneurs bring innovation and diversity to the UK business landscape. The launch of the Disability Finance Code for Entrepreneurship by the Department for Business and Trade is a key step in removing barriers and ensuring they have the financial support they need.
Everyone who has the drive and talent to run their own business deserves an equal opportunity to succeed. In 2023, we partnered with Small Business Britain in research that shone light on the barriers that Disabled entrepreneurs face. In 2024, we’ve supported the setup of the Lilac Review. One of the recommendations of the Lilac Review Interim Report was ‘simplifying processes and requirements for entrepreneurial support’ – particularly access to finance and investment. So I’m exceptionally proud that today, we are a signatory of the Disability Finance Code for Entrepreneurship which aims to drive engagement between the disabled entrepreneur community and the financial services sector in the UK. I’m grateful to the Disabled entrepreneurs who share their experiences with me and will help us, through co-creation events to develop our products and services. There is much more to do, and I’m committed to continuing our support – but today is a good step forward.
