It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in our Moda neighbourhoods across the UK 😍🎄 We can't get enough of the beautiful trees in the lobbies of our BTR communities, from Edinburgh to Brighton and Hove. Who can tell which neighbourhood is which 👀

Moda, Loudon’s Yard, Moda's second Birmingham neighbourhood, has reached practical completion. 🏗️✅ With design and materials inspired by Edgbaston’s nearby botanical gardens, the 398 BTR homes at Moda, Loudon’s Yard are complemented by 14,000 sq ft of amenities including a 24/7 gym and fitness centre, private dining room, co-working space, and communal landscaped gardens. 🌳 The neighbourhood was developed and will be operated by Moda for the long term. Built by our construction partner Winvic Construction Ltd, Moda, Loudon's Yard created 5,569 weeks of employment, apprenticeships and work experience opportunities for local people, including 31 apprentices. Moda, Loudon's Yard is the first phase of the 2,400-home New Garden Square masterplan, being delivered in partnership with Calthorpe Estates. Announced in 2023, the new 11-acre, residential-led urban community will deliver £6m of public realm, 2,400 new homes, office and retail space and more. With a total pipeline of around 4,500 new homes to be delivered in Birmingham, Moda’s commitment to the city includes working with partners and local authorities to drive positive change and impact across the city for the long term. Huge thanks and congratulations to everyone involved in delivering Moda, Loudon's Yard. Last week we hosted colleagues from across the single-family housing and wider property sector to a Spotlight on Single-Family Housing, which Casa by Moda hosted on behalf of BE News. Held at our sister company Moda’s newest BTR neighbourhood – Moda, Loudon’s Yard – guests braved the snow and travelled from all corners of the country and packed out the room for a morning focused on the fast-growing sector, sharing challenges and learnings from across the board. Our Development and Project Director kicked things off with an update on Casa by Moda’s exciting progress, along with some words from our investment partner @Ares Management from @James Hallett and the partnership between our businesses. The morning also included an insightful snapshot of the sector’s progress from Iain Murray and a brilliant talk from RBT Housing Commission Chair Alexandra Notay on her paper for housing reform. BE News Editor-in-Chief Liz Hamson rounded things off with a stellar panel line up including David Mawson, Elizabeth Williams, Justin Harley, Charlotte Ward, Paul Langford from Birmingham City Council and Jamie Younger, before attendees tucked into lunch from local independent caterer Artisan Epicurean. Thank you to everyone that joined us at Moda, Loudon’s Yard. We look forward to seeing you next time! Event coverage to follow… watch this space 👀

The next generation of property minds are coming – and they’re amazing. 🚀   Yesterday we welcomed 22 students aged 16-18 from across Manchester to Moda, Angel Gardens for a day all about the built environment and the career opportunities it holds, in partnership with Pathways to Property.   We started the day with talks from Moda representatives from across the business, followed by a tour of the estate, where Nicky Moore talked the students through the NOMA estate, its history and how it has been curated as a community.   After lunch, the students were broken up into groups to devise their own built environment projects to pitch to a panel of experts. These included a hexagonal hive-inspired multi-level community hub with a library, nursery, community garden and more; two brand new schools to encourage more families into Manchester; and a brand new student centre that put lifestyle and experience first for people using the space.   Some key takeaways: 💡 Ambition and drive – These students were focused, with big ideas and excitement to deliver them. 🎓 Engagement & Curiosity - The students stayed engaged throughout the day and asked thought-provoking questions about career paths, flexibility in the industry, and even dove into sustainability (yes, they already know about ESG!). 🌍 Focus on Community - The students were deeply invested in what Manchester needs: family-friendly spaces, inclusive community hubs, and sustainable solutions   But don’t just take our word for it – some of the feedback from the students included:   💬 “It was really exciting being able to learn about how people entered the industry and the detail included in it – I loved meeting everyone.”   💬 “I learnt more about different parts of real estate and the different things that happen behind the scenes.”   💬 “Made me more confident about applying for real estate.”   Huge thanks to the Team Moda mentors - Tarry Depledge, Chris Trunkfield, Saif Uddin, Will Powell and James Blakey, as well as Tom Woolmer, Henley Business School and NOMA. We’re feeling inspired for the future, and can’t wait to see what the next generation of talent will bring to the built environment ⚡
