We are proud to announce our investment in Ecuador's second debt conversion for nature. This initiative, led by the Republic of Ecuador and The Nature Conservancy, is the first of its kind to support forestry and freshwater conservation. The partnership will provide significant gross savings over the life of the transaction, unlocking around $460m to facilitate the Biocorrefor Amazónico program, which will aim to protect 4.6 million hectares of forest and 18,000 km of freshwater, as well as benefitting indigenous populations and communities. We continue to support debt conversions for nature which are evolving in terms of innovation and scalability. We believe they represent a compelling investment opportunity, offering institutional investors potential for strong returns over the longer-term, alongside positive environmental and social outcomes. Our inaugural Connecting Capital event brought together our unique ecosystem of partners including innovators, financiers, central government, local leaders, place makers and institutional investors from across Europe, to explore the transformative power of partnerships to help drive investment outperformance and create opportunities to collaborate more closely, driving our shared ambition for sustainable, inclusive societal growth. Highlights included thought-provoking speeches and workshops exploring productive finance, including insights from António Simões, Laura Mason, Bill Hughes, Chris Oglesby, Sir John Kingman, Pat Ritchie CBE, and Pete Gladwell. Thank you to Bruntwood SciTech and The University of Manchester for hosting us and to those who joined us. We look forward to continuing our work together, driving sustainable growth through innovation and collaboration. For professional clients only. Capital at risk.

It’s estimated that up to 760,000 pensioner households might be eligible for Pension Credit but aren't claiming. The deadline to make a back-dated claim and receive a Winter Fuel Payment is fast approaching - which, together, could be worth over £4,000. If you know someone who may be missing out, encourage them to use this helpful calculator from Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) before 21 December: https://ow.ly/KlMc50Uqxrh

“I've had epilepsy for around 12 years. Although my condition is stable, the first seven years were incredibly challenging. Dealing with symptoms, adjusting to new medications, and trying to establish a career path was an uphill battle. For me, stress is a primary trigger and it’s been the hardest thing to manage. I always feel the need to present myself at my best, which has been difficult. For example, there have been times where I’ve come into the office after having a seizure when I felt exhausted and sometimes had visible injuries. Having the flexibility to work from home has been a game-changer. It’s allowed me to manage my energy levels better and recover privately. From day one, my managers at L&G have been open and supportive. They allow me to be flexible and to take things slowly when I need to. By sharing that I have a disability, I help L&G to better understand its people and embrace practices to be more confident about disability inclusion. Sometimes it’s just about creating awareness and understanding, as well as communicating what support is available not only to people with disabilities, but also to line managers and team members too. While I can't speak for those with visible disabilities, I advise individuals with invisible disabilities to communicate openly and honestly with their managers. It's crucial to advocate for yourself and escalate issues if necessary. It’s been vital in helping me manage my condition. Disability History Month is a great opportunity to have conversations about the prevalence of visible and invisible disabilities among colleagues. I’m glad that L&G has helped to create awareness by coordinating annual events and sharing personal stories like mine. I hope my experiences highlight the importance of workplace support and the ongoing efforts needed to create an inclusive environment for all employees.” - Christina, Content Campaign Manager, Retirement and Retail Savings.

Over the last decade, we have been proudly investing into the UK’s universities ecosystem, committing £7.7bn to supporting the sector. We are pleased to share that our joint venture Bruntwood SciTech announced a new partnership with Imperial College London to develop a £200m life sciences and deep tech innovation workspace in West London. Bringing together Imperial’s research and translation expertise and Bruntwood SciTech’s specialist support, the White City campus is expected to help unlock opportunities to commercialise research and development innovation, and support highly skilled talent retention and job creation – altogether, this partnership exemplifies the power of long-term capital.
