About us

Our mission is to reduce youth reoffending through the delivery of an innovative rehabilitation programme to those in prison and those at risk of going to prison. We work in London, Bristol and the South West. The cost of putting one participant through the Key4Life programme is £5,000 versus the average annual cost of a prison place in England and Wales of £37,000. 14% of those who have been through the Key4Life programme have re-offended, compared to the national proven re-offending rate of 64% one-year post-release. Key4Life’s 7-step model is tackling the root causes and not just the symptoms of re-offending. Our independent research study has highlighted the notable impact of Key4Life in developing emotional resilience and employability skills.

Epic London Graduation celebrates programme graduates and Key Mentors ✨ On Tuesday evening we celebrated the graduation of 18 men from our London At Risk and HMP Thameside programmes as well as awarding 10 young men with an AQA in Key Mentoring. We are incredibly proud of our London graduates, who have achieved extraordinary results: 68% are in employment or training, and only 8% have reoffended. Huge thanks to Wagamama who not only contributed the delicious dinner marking this splendid occasion, but who have also supported Key4Life by employing two of our young men this year – Seymon from our London At Risk programme and Tyrese from our Southwest At Risk programme. 🗝️ Our CEO and founder, Eva Hamilton MBE, said: “It was such a special night for all involved, we loved celebrating the success of all these young men. And a big well done to Aaron and the mighty Key4Life team for the part they have played in transforming these young men’s lives.” 💚 #charity #graduation #teamwork #yearinreview #challenge #change #positivity #belief #whatif #younited wagamama Romuald Flandin

The £30 million landmark has just been surpassed thanks to the BRIT Trust’s latest round of annual grant-giving that will see Key4Life along with nine other charities benefit. The BRIT Trust funding will support us to continue transforming young offenders lives and reduce offending. In this video, filmed at registration, Aaron, Ren and Ashleigh on the Key4Life team, give a taste of what’s to come. “I explained to the men that the horses will be mirroring their energies,” said Ashleigh, our equine facilitator, “and how they can look at the horses’ behaviours and recognise that in themselves.” Watch this space for exciting updates over the coming days!         #Key4Life #HMPForestBank #Manchester #unlockpain #horses #equinetherapy #employment #newbeginning #change #brightfutures #reduceoffending #preventcrime

Working with AI for an inclusive job market - Key4Life attends Movement to Work launch ✨ A proud partner of Movement to Work, Key4Life was delighted to attend the launch of their new report at 110 Bishopsgate in London this week, which shares helpful research about how Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is changing the job market, and its effect on job-seeking young people not in education, employment or training (NEET). As employers determine how to deploy GAI, it is vital we ensure no young person is left behind. As of August 2024, the UK has at least 872,000 young people who are currently NEET; we must ensure they have the skills and support they need to succeed in a job market that will be impacted by GAI. Josh Cobb, Corporate Relations Manager for Key4Life (featured in bottom right pic below), who attended the event, said: "While GAI can be a helpful tool for NEET young people to use, many of their challenges in accessing employment are due to the structure of hiring processes, and cannot be solved only through the use of AI technology. Employers have the opportunity to be leaders in inclusive hiring and ensure that their processes allow valuable potential talent to come in." Employers must create hiring processes that alleviate many of the challenges that NEET young people face, and simultaneously improve the relationship with candidates, widen the talent pool, and ensure that they select the best candidates for the role. Thank you again to Movement to Work for your continued support and thank you to their other partners for supporting this important initiative, including: Tesco, Barclays, Centrica, Starbucks, NHS, Marks and Spencer, BT Group, Accenture, Marriott International and cityandguildsprog AETI
