What better way to round off the year than kick starting a business expansion programme in #Japan for our newest #automotive and mobility client: San-Francisco based #motorcycle tech innovator Roadio. Backed by VCs including LDV Capital, Wayra UK and Trucks Venture Capital, Roadio develops Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for motorbikes, scooters and e-bikes. Japan is a priority growth market for the company, as the 'big four' Japanese OEMs alone - Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki - sold 25 million bikes last year! Our #Tokyo team, led by our mobility specialist Øyvind Lauritsen, will be targeting the big four to introduce Roadio's products and seek joint development and licensing deals. We're greatly looking forward to working with our new client's CEO Jonathan Denby, Head of Product Will Murphy and the rest of the Roadio team. See more on this latest programme below. And, for an informal discussion about your mobility company's prospects in Asia, contact Thomas Shiekman at thomas.shiekman@intralinkgroup.com. https://lnkd.in/gK9RaxHw

#Taiwan is determined to reduce its reliance on imported fuels and reach #netzero emissions by 2050 – presenting huge commercial potential for UK tech companies. This is detailed in our latest report from the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme and the report’s author, Sam Leng from our Taipei operation, gives us the highlights of its findings in this article. Sam explains how the £22 billion investment the Taiwanese authorities are ploughing into the net zero transition is driving rapid expansion of its #renewableenergy sector – particularly #offshorewind, #solarpower and #hydrogen. But the island’s corporations can’t achieve its goals on its own and UK innovators have a great deal to offer. Read the article to find out where the biggest growth areas are, which overseas technologies and services are most needed in Taiwan and how best to enter the market. You can download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/egu4e9pQ And for an informal conversation about the potential for your business, you can contact Sam at sam.leng@intralinkgroup.com. The UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme is the initiative we run on behalf of the UK Government to provide free and subsidised support to help British companies expand in Asia Pacific. We’ve just hosted our third annual Intralink Innovation Evening – our biggest so far! To round off each year, we hold an innovation event to bring members of our network and new contacts together, facilitate cross-border connections and learn from each other. Our theme this year was 'The corporate climate challenge: Innovating and investing for a greener future'. It was an exploration of the vital need for corporations, startups and investors alike to focus on #climate technology – not only because it's the right thing to do, but because it presents a huge commercial opportunity. More than 100 #climatetech players assembled at RSA House in London where, after an introduction from our CEO Greg Sutch, four speakers took to the stage to discuss climatetech investment from different perspectives, followed by a lively networking session over food and drink. Thanks to our speakers Luís Manuel, Founder of Telluris Investments, Hideaki Yonekubo, Senior Manager of Corporate Sustainability at Asahi Kasei Europe, Andrew Wordsworth, Founder of Sustainable Ventures, and our Group Sustainability Officer, Noel Pritchard. And thanks to everyone else who came along to make it such an interesting and enjoyable event. You can see a short video recap of the occasion below.

It's good to see this news article in Renewable Energy Magazine on the latest companies to be selected for support to expand in #AsiaPacific as part of the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme. The publication outlines how three British #cleantech firms are benefiting from subsidised, six-week business development initiatives to introduce them to prospective customers and partners in #Japan, #SouthKorea and #Taiwan. The firms are carbon nanotech innovator iGii, renewable energy risk modelling specialist Renew Risk and hydrogen powertrain systems pioneer VIRITECH. Dr Joanne Holmes from iGii is quoted in the article saying: "Japan’s in vitro diagnostics and point-of-care testing sectors have seen rapid growth in recent years, presenting opportunities to integrate our revolutionary nanomaterial into a variety of products. From assembling an expert support team to translating for us during meetings, the team at the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme is already proving instrumental in connecting us with potential customers.” You can find out more about the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme, which we run on behalf of the UK Government, and apply to be considered for similar exercises here: https://lnkd.in/ec6XcAwK https://lnkd.in/etzRWHGg

Great to see this post from our French structural biology client ALPX about the work we’re doing to help the company expand in #Japan. A special thanks to Sofya Suidasari and Charles Cielo for their warm hospitality and insightful discussions. We had the pleasure of hosting, in London, a visit from some of #SouthKorea's most exciting tech companies which are looking to expand in the UK. The event kicked off with a group talk led by our Michał Waszkiewicz on the hottest UK market opportunities for overseas firms, as well as the challenges they’re likely to encounter. Michal highlighted tough domestic tech sector competition, driven by the UK’s abundance of talent and mature VC ecosystem – but explained that this also presents opportunities for those who take a partnership approach. After the presentation, each company paired up with one of our market expansion specialists - Alex Gover, Jeremy Shaw, Takuya Gamboni, Paul Dupont and Huw Thomas - for in-depth discussions about their specific goals and growth pains, leading into a working lunch and networking session. Many thanks to our partner Global Digital Innovation Network – especially Hyun-woo Jo and MJ Baek – for sponsoring and supporting this event. We look forward to seeing much more of Korea's Telechips, Inc., HFR, Inc., SOLiD, Brain Ventures and Wizcore l 위즈코어 in the UK as they pursue their international growth plans. If you, too, are interested in securing customers, partners or investors in the UK or elsewhere in Europe, please get in touch with Michał Waszkiewicz at michal.waszkiewicz@intralinkgroup.com for an informal conversation.

Great news story in the Business Weekly newspaper on the matchmaking meetings we facilitated for Wave Photonics and 10 other UK #quantumtech innovators with tech giants and #VCs from #AsiaPacific. The meetings - which are already progressing to commercial discussions in several cases - were organised as part of the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme, which we deliver for the UK government to provide free and subsidised support for scaleups to target opportunities in 11 markets across Asia Pacific. The UK innovators involved include Wave Photonics, Element Six, Phasecraft and Quantum Software Lab. And the Asian corporations include Fujitsu and QunaSys from #Japan, Qunova Computing and Quantum Intelligence from #SouthKorea, and Taiwania Capital and MediaTek from #Taiwan. You can also see more on the initiative, including a short highlights video, here: https://lnkd.in/eBjQTVZj And click here for more on the UK-APAC Tech Growth Programme, including how to apply to be considered for events such as this in future: https://lnkd.in/ec6XcAwK https://lnkd.in/euaW9jYt
