Been wondering what’s the best way to share #FacingChange #INTOJordan2024 with my network … So much learning and exchange, but perhaps the biggest takeaway around unity, hope and resilience. It has been the most amazing gathering of people from all over the world, united by our shared mission, values and aspirations. There’s been challenge too. For INTO (International National Trusts Organisation) to be more global, younger, more vocal. And I'm happy to have a new board and chair, HRH Princess Dana Firas, to deliver this ambition. It was great to partner with the British Council's #CulturalProtectionFund, Petra National Trust and colleagues from across the region. I hope that as a result, we will work ever more closely together. Powerful to hear from those facing cultural erasure about the role of heritage in the midst of violence and displacement. Humbling, heartbreaking, inspiring. Togetherness is vital. And hope. Thanks to everyone who came and generously shared their knowledge, stories and friendship. To (sort of) quote Dan Snow, who was one of our keynote speakers: Together we're making the world worth saving.

So happy for all the winners at last night's European Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards. Particularly proud of the International National Trusts Organisation members honoured - National Trust's Hardwick Hall and Boulouki - and absolutely delighted for our partners on the Tsiskarauli Tower restoration project, who won a coveted Grand Prix! 🎉 🙌 🎖 Funded with a grant from ALIPH - International alliance for the protection of heritage in conflict areas, and working with The National Trust of Georgia, REMPART, Stowarzyszenie "Wieża Książęca w Siedlęcinie" / "The Ducal Tower of Siedlecin" Association and National Trust, it was a truly European project. We restored a beautiful tower. Which is a huge achievement in itself. But it's the way we did it that's extraordinary: In a spirit of peacebuilding and European unity with partners and volunteers from across the continent. We brought together people from different communities, generations and backgrounds, to share their knowledge and pass on skills.  And the impact of our work continues to resonate, inspiring ongoing efforts in heritage conservation and the development of civil society in Georgia. I am so proud of this project and our partners but particularly all the incredible volunteers and community members who invested so much in this work ❤️ Deeply grateful to ALIPH for funding it and to Europa Nostra for recognising the power of citizen engagement and collaboration 🙏

By rejuvenating our network, governance and programming, we aim to increase intergenerational exchange, creating more opportunities, engagement and resilience across the National Trust movement. Fantastic day with the International National Trusts Organisation team at Mottisfont this week preparing for #INTOJordan2024 and seeing some of the fruits of our #WithstandingChange project in action! You can read the National Trust's climate adaptation guidance on our website. Developed in partnership with other heritage organisations, this seeks to help people working in heritage make decisions in the face of increasingly serious climate hazards.
