Last month during #IWill Week, we had our first Community Cafe! 🚀 Thank you to everyone who came along! We heard from Zainab Rao about her experiences becoming a trustee, platformed opportunities and networked 🩵 The Young Trustees Community Cafe is our way of levelling the playing field by giving young trustees the space to make meaningful networks and learn from one another. ⭐ Shaping the Future of Governance: Join Us in Co-Creating the Next Chapter of the Young Trustees Movement ⭐ I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the Strategy Sub-Committee at this pivotal moment for the Young Trustees Movement, as we embark on an important journey of reflection and future planning for the organisation. Since 2019, Young Trustees Movement have been working hard to challenge governance norms and amplify the role of young people in decision-making spaces. Now, they’re taking the time to reflect, learn, and shape the direction for the future. To do this, the Young Trustees Movement needs your help! They're launching a process of open, transparent consultation, and your insights will be vital in co-creating the next chapter of the movement. Our friends at Association of Chairs are hosting their next peer support group in partnership with Inclusion London! 🩵 ⏰ Join them on Tuesday 14 January, 6 - 8pm in London. It's open and free for all charity Chairs / Vice-Chairs / Co-Chairs to attend. 🙌🏾 Stephen Bunbury SFHEA, Co-Chair for Inclusion London and Co-Chair of the BME Colleague Network at the University of Westminster will be joining. In this session, you will explore the 'skills gap' often found on Disabled-led charity boards. 🔗 RSVP: https://lnkd.in/efzdi3eN AoC runs monthly in-person peer sessions in London. These are two hour facilitated sessions, where you will be introduced to fellow Chairs, get to know each other and talk though issues with other Chairs who share similar challenges and experiences.

Big news! From January, I’ll be joining the Young Arts Fundraisers as a new Events Board Member 🎉 This opportunity comes after completing the fantastic Young Trustee Traineeship, delivered by the National Trust and the Young Trustees Movement. Huge thanks to Katherine Grayson and Ali Wallace MCIPD CMgr FCMI for their guidance and coordination throughout the programme, and of course the brilliant team at the Young Trustees Movement themselves—it was an invaluable experience that gave me a clear understanding of the skills required for governance roles and the benefits they bring. I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and get started, supporting early-career fundraisers across the arts sector. My focus will be on helping deliver events that develop skills, spark connections, and open doors to exciting opportunities in fundraising. As someone who found it challenging to break into the charity sector, I know how much initiatives like this can make a difference. It’s a privilege to be part of this mission, and I look forward to working with an incredible team to make it happen.
