ICYMI (In Case You Missed It), here's an update on the latest UK drone regulations: The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has extended the transition and legacy provisions for drones operating in the open category until January 1, 2026. This extension provides drone operators more time to comply with updated regulations. Additionally, starting from January 1, 2023, EU class marks on drones will no longer be recognized in the UK. Drones with EU class marks will only be permitted to fly in the Open and Specific categories, without utilizing class mark provisions in the A1, A2, and A3 subcategories. Stay informed and ensure compliance with these updated regulations for safe and legal drone operations in the UK. For more details, visit the CAA website or official government sources. #UKDroneRegulations #CAA #DroneSafety #DroneCompliance

Using the behaviour of lost individuals to track down where they might go 👍 https://lnkd.in/e8_K62Vy #SearchAndRescue #DroneTechnology #DroneInnovation #PublicSafety #EmergencyResponse #BehavioralAnalysis #LostPersonSearch #AerialSurveillance #TechForGood #DroneApplications #SAR #UKDrones #RescueMissions #DroneResearch #UAV
Lost Person Behavior Part 2 ⛑️ Follow along as the Whatcom County Search and Rescue Council explains the typical behavior of lost individuals. By recognizing specific actions, search and rescue teams can deploy drones to likely areas, such as trails and waterways, to begin their search. Drones often find lost individuals before ground teams can even begin searching, bringing immense relief to the lost individual and the rescue teams. Special thanks to Kyle Nordfors from the Weber County Search & Rescue team and Dr. John Sohl, from the Whatcom County Search and Rescue Council, for giving us an insight into the daily life of a SAR drone pilot. As a UK drone operator relying on DJI technology, I am concerned about the potential for the UK to follow the US in banning both DJI products and TikTok. These actions would infringe on our rights to free speech and expression, as both platforms are essential for creativity and communication. Additionally, such bans could violate due process and disrupt commerce. It's crucial that we protect our constitutional rights and resist these unjust measures in the UK. Additionally, it should be noted that the banning of TikTok in the United States raises several constitutional concerns, particularly related to the First Amendment and the Fifth Amendment. https://lnkd.in/e7Htit2z #DroneOperator #TechFreedom #FreeSpeech #DueProcess #CommerceClause #DJI #TikTok #UKTech #DigitalRights

Exciting news in the world of search and rescue! 5G-connected drones are set to revolutionize mountain rescue missions. Developed by JET Connectivity and demonstrated in Scotland, these drones create a mobile 5G network that enhances communication and data sharing in remote areas, ensuring faster and more effective rescue operations. Virgin Media O2 has also trialed similar technology with the Warwickshire Search and Rescue team, providing critical connectivity in challenging terrains. These innovations promise to save lives and improve safety in mountain and remote area rescues. #5G #Drones #SearchAndRescue #Innovation #TechForGood #EmergencyResponse Learn more about these ground-breaking developments: https://lnkd.in/em6X-MJF https://www.digit.fyi/ https://lnkd.in/dnhHhtf https://lnkd.in/d5CG-5rE

Medical drone deliveries in the UK are being explored as a potential solution to improve healthcare services, particularly in rural or hard-to-reach areas. While there are regulatory and infrastructure challenges to overcome, several initiatives are underway to test the feasibility of drone delivery networks. One notable example is the “Flying High” report, which highlighted the potential for a drone delivery network for carrying urgent medical products between NHS facilities in London. The report suggested that drones could carry products such as pathology samples, blood products, and equipment over relatively short distances between hospitals. In 2018, the NHS began testing drone deliveries of blood and medical test results between hospitals in London. The trial aimed to assess the potential benefits of using drones for medical deliveries, including increased speed and reliability. Another example is the partnership between the UK government and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, which launched the world’s largest medical drone delivery service in Ghana. The service provides life-saving vaccines to millions of children and has the potential to be replicated in other countries, including the UK. Several companies are also exploring the use of drones for medical deliveries in the UK. For instance, Skyports has received permission from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to carry diagnostic specimens by drone, and is working with the NHS to develop a drone delivery service. Additionally, the UK Space Agency is backing several projects that use space-enabled technologies and services to support the NHS in the fight against COVID-19, including a medical drone delivery service. While there are still regulatory and infrastructure challenges to overcome, the potential benefits of medical drone deliveries in the UK are significant. With the ability to quickly and reliably transport medical supplies and samples, drones could help improve patient outcomes and reduce delays in medical treatment. #DroneNews #UKDrones #DroneTechnology #AerialInnovation #DroneDelivery #CAARegulations #MedicalDrones #WildlifeConservation #SaxaVordSpaceport #SpaceIndustry #DroneSafety #TechTrends #HorizonHover ☝
