🎉 A big congratulations to our graduate, Phoebe Gannon! Last week, Phoebe officially wrapped up our Operations Graduate Scheme and is now gearing up to start her new role as Assistant Contract Manager in our Landscaping team this January. 🌱 In her final weeks, Phoebe delivered an impressive end-of-programme presentation to the board in London, showcasing everything she’s learned during her journey. She also joined the team for some well-earned festive celebrations. 🎄✨ We’re so proud of all that Phoebe has achieved and can’t wait to see her career at Ground Control continue to thrive. 💬 Watch this space to follow her journey! https://lnkd.in/eD9pkU8B Jack Terry Dillon Alcock Adam John Daisy Staff Grady Edgington Finn Dobson

An update on #StormDarragh: It is fair to say that the Network Rail ‘Wales 🏴 and Borders’ route bore the brunt of the storm. The Met Office red weather warning ⚠️ covered virtually all of our railway. And beyond the very high winds, we had an Amber warning with more high winds 💨 and rain ☔️ for nearly 36 continuous hours. The teams from Network Rail and Transport for Wales have been brilliant throughout, railway industry collaboration at its best. We have also been supported by our supply chain, including Ground Control , AmcoGiffen, Lanes Group and more. I have been incredibly grateful 🙏 to the teams for the way they have put their own safety and customer safety at the forefront of their decision making throughout. We have had literally hundreds of items blown onto the railway, hundreds of trees 🌲 down, dozens of signalling and telecoms faults, numerous external power ⚡️ outages, numerous flood risks (and events) and more. In addition, the road 🚐 network (for us to respond) was also severely impacted. Overnight last night and today, we have worked collaboratively with Transport for Wales and have had mutiple route-proving (empty) trains with only our maintenance teams on board methodically checking 👁️, clearing and repairing 🔧 the railway 🚂 . As we go into this evening, we are still working hard on this and will be throughout the night. We have been able to open up many of our routes today, but we have more to do tonight and tomorrow. If you are planning to travel tomorrow (Monday), please check before you do. I would like to thank 👏👏 my railway colleagues for what you have done this weekend. Also for what you are continuing to do tonight to restore the railway. I am genuinely proud to work on the Wales 🏴 and Borders railway, a true railway family. I am also grateful to the TV 📺 and Radio 📻 press for working with us throughout the weekend. And, finally, sorry to anybody who may have been planning to use the railway over the weekend. We are doing our best to get it back safely working for you as soon as we can. Some photos (courtesy of our response teams) below.
