We bring practical software engineering classes to university students in Ghana to empower young African talents!
About us
Our mission is to bring practical software engineering classes to university students on campus in Ghana. Our goal is to share the passion for computer science and empower young African talents to build a career in tech and a better future for their country. Global Code began in 2017 in Koforidua, Ghana. Eighteen students and one instructor navigated (and built!) a curriculum based on practical, real-world technology that software engineers use every day: linux, python, git, and platforms like heroku. Global Code is impact-driven and reaches significantly more students each year, with the help of volunteering instructors.

The past two weeks have been an incredible journey of learning and growth for me at the Global Code summer boot camp at the University of Ghana! I'm thrilled to share my experience with you all. I joined this boot camp with a curiosity to explore the world of coding and technology, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. In just two weeks, I've gained hands-on experience with: Raspberry Pi and Linux, Git and GitHub, Python programming, Web APIs and development, Hosting Platforms, IoT and MQTT. The best part? I've had the opportunity to apply my new skills to real-world projects, making learning fun and interactive. I'm grateful to Global Code for providing a supportive and inclusive environment, encouraging me to push boundaries and explore new possibilities. Thanks to the amazing team, instructors and mentors at Global Code for an unforgettable experience so far. I'm excited to dive in and work collaboratively with my group members this final week on our project! We've got a lot to accomplish, and I'm looking forward to putting our skills and knowledge to the test. #GlobalCode #SummerBootCamp #TechForGood #WomenInTech #LearningAndGrowing
