As the year draws to a close, we want to take this opportunity to extend our warmest wishes and festive greetings to all! 🎄 2024 has been yet another exciting year in the subsea calendar, and we’re proud to have once again put on an excellent programme of activities across the underwater sectors. Last week saw the release of our 2024 business survey. Our industry, which has grown to £9.2b and supports over 51,000 jobs, has both the capacity and capability to accelerate the global energy transition but only if project certainty is secured. The report, free to download, paints the picture of a supply chain and energy industry in transition. Coming next year, we have a number of events already in the calendar, with more to come. Keep up to date on our events page: https://lnkd.in/erCUWa_4 From us all at GUH, thank you to all our members and partners for your support throughout 2024 and we look forward to continuing to work with you in 2025! 🔗2024 business survey: https://lnkd.in/eQUetwWU #GlobalUnderwaterHub #AccessConnectGrow #GUHBusinessSuvey #underwaterindustry

Global Underwater Hub’s latest business survey revealed that the lack of project surety and a concerning uncertainty about timelines is making it tough for underwater companies to tie business and investment plans back to Final Investment Decisions (FID), tender awards and project sanctions. To counter this, GUH has called on the UK Government to recognise the scale and potential of the underwater industry to generate wealth, jobs and exports and ensure its industrial strategy provides what is needed to reach that potential. In our response to the Government’s consultation on its industrial strategy, GUH has made the case for aligned policy, timely consenting, sensible financing, concrete project timelines and clear supply chain investment are imperative to move projects from the drawing board to the seabed. If our world class underwater supply chain, which has the necessary, leading capability to harness the opportunities across all its markets, is to invest and plan for the coming decades, it needs strong market signals and commitment at various stages of a project and market development. Last week, Global Underwater Hub hosted its first Offshore Autonomy in Action workshop, which was held in its office in Westhill, Welcoming around 50 attendees, the day allowed companies that have developed autonomous surface vessels and autonomous underwater vehicles to showcase their products and capabilities to a range of offshore energy industry professionals, including representatives of our operator forum. Our thanks to DeepOcean, Oceaneering, Ocean Infinity, Saipem and Smarter Subsea Handling for delivering insightful presentations and with the use of video, helping to bring the autonomous technology commonly used miles offshore, to life back on dry land. The event illustrated the innovation that exists across the underwater supply chain and how remote underwater operating systems can support increased operational and technical reliability, and reductions in costs and carbon footprints. #GobalUnderwaterHub #GUHEvents #AccessConnectGrow #underwaterindustry #offshoreautonomy
