🛏No Rest.. 🛏 We had one heck of a busy December and we couldn’t be happier! It shows no sign of slowing down as we kick off 2025. A short wander into Electro-Mech and we’ve got Ian working on a Gearbox from a food & Beverage site, Steve tackling a compressor also from a food & beverage business. Further on we’ve shutdown work on theme park track motors, motors from a quarry and more. The team has no time to slack, to get all this equipment back in action. Round in drives & controls Adam is forming an orderly line of equipment for assessment, including Cognex scanners and a Lenze Drive card. 🎆Happy New Year! 🎆 Fletcher Moorland closed our year out, the same way we started it! Supporting our partners! That’s how we’ll continue through 2025, making sure we keep industry moving! In the case of these vacuum pumps our customer had a tight window, they could only be removed on Christmas Eve and, reinstalled on New Years Eve. Our team attended the customers site, removed and transported back to Fletcher Moorland. Where we carried out the shutdown maintenance. We then transported them back to site and reinstalled. Whether it’s Electronic, Electro-Mech repairs/refurbishment or Reliability Services; Fletcher Moorland are on hand to support 24/7. 👋A fond farewell.. 👋 This Christmas saw us wishing Phil Robson a happy retirement! Having been with Fletcher Moorland most of his working life, Phil has taken the decision it’s time to take it easy. At least for a while! A valued, knowledgeable and skilled member of the Fletcher Moorland team, we’re very much leaving the door open for him to return. 🏗It’s more Heave Ho, than Ho, Ho, Ho! 🏗 We’ve had this 200kW Siemens Compressor Motor in on an Emergency. Josh and Marcus have just finished lifting it in to one of our pyrolysis, or burn off ovens, after carefully removing elements that don’t go through this process. All of those are documented and allocated to a store location. This means at any point in time or if another engineer picks up the job. They can log on to our in house system BOS and check, collect, fit etc on all parts of the unit. Back to burn off! A controlled burn-off at 370C will burn the enamel and other hydrocarbons off the windings. Josh will then have an easier time removing the burnt windings from the stator, ready for the rewind process. Using a controlled burn off and using a core loss test, we can rewind the motor to maintain its original efficiency. Fletcher Moorland are committed to delivering a 24/7, 365 days a year service. Recently received this 4 pole, 315kW Motor in to our Electro-Mech department. It’s a WEG 355m and as you might have guessed it’s here because it’s behaving badly! Customer has detailed that while the motor seems fine, the pump it drives is vibrating. Jonny, having safely lifted the unit to his workstation using our network of cranes will now carry out an assessment inspection. We’ll then provide our findings to the customer, as well as recommendations for repair, refurbish or replace.
