  • If you knew someone you cared about was in danger, and you could help, what would you do?   Scammers use increasingly sophisticated emotional manipulation tactics on victims, and our podcast guest Debbie was no exception.   In our first episode of Scam Detectors, we hear a first-hand account from Debbie, who lost $60,000 through a romance scam via a popular dating app.   We are grateful to Debbie for sharing her story as we work to remove the stigma around victims and show the deceitful and manipulative tactics criminals are using to steal people’s money.   Each week, technology journalist Jane Wakefield will explore different types of scams that impact consumers globally. The debut episode is now live...   Joined by Featurespace CEO, Martina King and BBC Cyber Correspondent Joe Tidy, Jane and her guests look at the devastating world of romance scams, uncovering how fraudsters exploit digital connections to separate victims from their money.   Listen to the not-to-be-missed Episode 1 here 👉https://lnkd.in/eX7-HkCj

As humans, we want to create emotional connections, therefore it's humans who are being hacked in a less transactional, but more emotional way. To hear their thoughts in full, tap play ▶️
