Another free webinar? Absolutely! Our STAGED season continues on 15 January with an advice webinar on: ‘Establishing and risk managing your local learning area.’ Your local learning area offers rich opportunities for educational visits. Are you using it to its full potential? When established carefully, you'll be able to use it frequently and to grab learning opportunities as they arise, in many cases without needing to send letters home or plan far in advance. 🤔 How? We'll explain how to set the area, what to consider, risk assessment considerations and how to use your local area effectively for learning. In 2024, the EVOLVE Advice schools community has led an incredible 305,531 visits, providing 5.5 million children and young people with new, and potentially life-changing experiences…WOW! 🤩 Thank you to everyone who has played a part, big or small, in making these trips and visits possible. EVCs, Visit Leaders, SLT, Governors, school staff, Educational Visits Advisers, providers, activity leaders, tour operators, education teams, visit management systems, sector organisations, insurance companies, transport providers…and of course young people and their parents/carers. It takes a whole community of people passionate about the impact of educational visits to make the magic happen. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved rest over the Christmas break and we’ll see you on the other side for more amazing educational visits. 🎄 Merry Christmas from EVOLVE Advice

Managing Risk for Youth and School Trips: New ISO Standard Released. In October 2024, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) introduced ISO 31031:2024, now adopted as the British Standard BS ISO 31031:2024. This global framework is designed for schools, youth organisations, and providers organising trips for young people. It complements, but does not replace, UK-specific guidance such as the OEAP National Guidance. 💡 • ISO 31031 compliments existing guidance, aligning with UK laws and practices. • Offers a structured approach to risk management for domestic and international settings. 📖Curious to learn more? Huge thanks to Mike King for delivering this week's CPD webinar on behaviour and educational visits. Mike helped us to explore the fundamental question: "how can I facilitate opportunities for my children to meet their needs without interrupting the needs of someone else?" Mike shared the Releasing Potential approach to working with children and young people with challenging behaviour, as well as his experiences and tips for staff taking groups offsite on educational visits. The recording of this webinar is available for a limited time on our website here 👉 https://lnkd.in/epmVyEPU - highly recommended watch for anyone involved in educational visits in schools and educational settings. This webinar was the latest in our STAGED Season of advice webinars. We have more scheduled for January, when we'll be looking at how to define and risk assess your local learning area, enabling you to maximise the value of learning outside the classroom; following that, we'll be exploring educational visits in challenging or changing environments - what you need to consider in your planning and how to manage risk when out and about. TODAY 11am - behaviour and educational visits webinar. It’s not too late to join us for this free webinar, with Mike King. Register here to join us live or get a recording after the event. https://lnkd.in/d2hxgZ9B More about the webinar: How do you manage behaviour on educational visits? Are children who struggle with their behaviour in school, included in visits? And what considerations do you need to make in your visit planning and risk management to enable all children to benefit from these important development opportunities? In this webinar we'll explore why and how to support children with behavioural needs to experience educational visits. This webinar is led by Mike King, Executive Headteacher, founder and CEO at Releasing Potential, which supports children and young people outside of mainstream education.
