This Christmas, Children's Hospice South West will continue doing what it does every day: providing vital support to families in need. To understand what this support means, please watch this video. CHSW provides hospice care for babies, children, and young people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as their whole family at three wonderful children's hospices in Devon, Somerset, and Cornwall. We selected CHSW as our #Charity of the Year 2024 and are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to provide a spotlight for their marvellous work. What a year 2024 has been for Ethical Power! We saw a huge amount of growth and positive change. A huge thanks to our team, our partners, and suppliers for helping us to deliver high-quality renewable energy in the UK, Spain, and New Zealand. There isn’t enough time or space to tell you about all the amazing achievements, but here are a few we are most proud of:
-
2024 has been a transformative year for renewable energy, in the UK and across the world. For the first time, renewables overtook fossil fuels in the UK's electricity mix, marking a historic shift towards a more sustainable future. The government's launch of Great British Energy and the major investment by the National Grid also promise to pave the way for even greater growth in the sector. Globally, solar installations have reached record highs, with over 2 terawatts of solar panels installed in two years. For context, this is more new solar energy in two years than in the preceding half a century. ☀️ We are very proud of our contribution to this amazing year, having installed well over half a million #solar modules in 2024 across all our international #PV projects. Battery storage capacity has also improved greatly, further increasing the reliability of renewable energy assets and we are installing hundreds of megawatts of #BESS capacity in the UK and New Zealand, with plenty more to come. 🔋 Challenges remain, but significant improvements have already been made across the industry to improve the speed and efficiency of renewable projects and, together with our Group company GTDS, we are helping to build a more modern, secure grid infrastructure. It's clear that 2024 was a year of remarkable progress, but what excites us most is that 2025 is already shaping up to be an even bigger, better year for us and #RenewableEnergy!

As the temperature drops, our Operations and Maintenance team works to ensure your asset’s performance doesn’t. While many of us are beginning to wind down for the holidays, #GreenEnergy assets must maintain peak performance to help keep the lights on. We would like to give a special thanks to everyone in our O&M and Performance and CCTV Monitoring teams for keeping an expert eye on solar farms all over the UK and New Zealand, during the harshest winter conditions and over the festive period. If you would feel safer having renewable energy and security experts maintain your site, get in touch today. https://lnkd.in/ecjeNhz8 #Solar #CCTV #Winter

A quick update from Team GB bobsleigh pilot Josh Hudson, sponsored by Ethical Power. We believe sports can be an integral part of healthy youth development, so we support several teams and athletes, such as The Clan, Scotland’s Unified Rugby Team, and the Telford Junior Ice Hockey Club. Josh was re-selected for the 2024/25 Great Britain Bobsleigh team in October at their training camp in Norway. With only five days to prepare, Josh and the team took part in the North American Cup in Whistler. This is perhaps the fastest track in the world, with teams hitting speeds of over 150kph in a 2-man bob and over 160kph in a 4-man bob. Next up, Park City, Utah! Despite clocking in only three days of official training, Josh finished fifth and won his first medal for Great Britain! (Top 6 in bobsleigh is recognised as a wider podium and medals are awarded for these places). Josh is now in Innsbruck, Austria for the Europe Cup. We are very proud to sponsor Josh and can’t wait to see him rise up the ranks of world bobsleigh. Good luck Josh! We are very proud to partner with Encavis AG again, this time for our first solar farms in Italy! Together, the Cobu and Massarenti farms will generate 28 GWh/year of green energy and are projected to come online in 2025. Congratulations to Francesca Cavallini and the entire Italian team, we can't wait to see how these solar farms develop! Watch this space for more news on our Italian solar projects: https://lnkd.in/dugQArVh
We expand our solar portfolio with new projects in Northern Italy 🌞 Encavis AG has acquired two ready-to-build solar projects in Cobu and Massarenti, located south of Ferrara in the province of Emilia-Romagna. The projects, with a combined generating capacity of 18.4 MW, have been acquired from Hive Energy and Sunleonard Energy. 🔋 Energy production: Approximately 28 GWh of green electricity per year by the end of 2025 🏗️ Construction: Ethical Power will build the solar parks 🌍 Location advantage: Strategic location and streamlined permitting process 🤝 Partnership: Third transaction between Encavis and Hive Energy, extending collaboration from Spain to Italy 🏠 Local significance: Projects are among the first in the Emilia-Romagna region 📈 Future: Long-term pay-as-produced power purchase agreement (PPA) with an industrial customer planned Mario Schirru, CIO/COO of Encavis AG, underlines the strategic importance of these projects: "Our Spanish solar parks, Fundici (55 MW, 2022) and La Florida (30 MW, 2024), which we acquired in recent years, form the basis of our successful collaboration with Hive Energy, which is now being continued with two new Italian projects. The parks not only further expand our Italian portfolio, but are also characterised by their strategic proximity to industrial PPA offtakers." #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #Sustainability #Encavis #HiveEnergy #GreenEnergy #Italy
