We can end AIDS by 2030

About us

The Elton John AIDS Foundation was established in 1992 and is one of the leading independent AIDS organisations in the world. The Foundation’s mission is simple: an AIDS free future. We are committed to no more discrimination. No more HIV infections. No more AIDS death. No matter who or where you are. The Foundation works at all levels to influence change. With the mobilization of our network of generous supporters and partners, we fund local experts in 23 countries to spread awareness, prevent infections and provide care and treatment for the most marginalised groups. We harness local knowledge and innovation and motivate governments to end AIDS. We will not stop until there is an AIDS free future.

  • Kristina, a peer counselor at Revanche -an organization supported by the Elton John AIDS Foundation in Kazakhstan – knows firsthand the difference compassionate support can make. Once hesitant to start treatment due to a lack of information and support, Kristina has now been living with HIV for over 10 years. Today, she shares her journey to empower other women and connects them to lifesaving care and support services. “I am trying to show others, through my own experience, that there is no need to be afraid of this,” shared Kristina. “I have learnt that stigma comes from within. If a person labels themselves, then it means that society will label them too.”

  • Happy 10th wedding anniversary to Elton John and David Furnish ❤️ For over a decade, Elton and David have been fierce advocates for LGBTQ+ equality, illustrating the transformative power of love and compassion. Through the Elton John AIDS Foundation, they’ve led groundbreaking efforts to create a future free from AIDS, and continue to help us tackle the barriers and growing anti-LGBTQ+ legislation we face. We stand with them in the belief that everyone should be able to freely and openly love who they love. • Today, we’re reflecting on the special #WorldAIDSDay commemoration held at the White House on December 1st, where President Joe Biden and AIDS activist Jeanne White-Ginder, Ryan White's mother, emphasized the ongoing commitment required to end AIDS in the USA and around the world. It was so powerful to see the AIDS Memorial Quilt at the White House for the first time since its creation 40 years ago. In the U.S., we thank President Biden for his commitment to make HIV treatment and prevention more accessible, and look forward to seeing the updated guidance on HIV care from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
