A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Rodney Parade for the Boxing Day derby. It was a special occasion for me personally, given my background, and while it was disappointing not to hold on for the win, it was certainly a memorable fixture.
Our attention now turns to European competition as we host Pau next Sunday. A win would put us in a strong position to qualify for knockout rugby, and we’d love to see you there to experience not only the action on the pitch but also the fantastic hospitality we pride ourselves on at Dragons RFC.
As I reflect on my first six months here, I’m incredibly grateful for the continued support. Despite a challenging time on the field, we remain fully committed to building a team that will become a real force in the years to come.

Players from Dragons RFC made a special visit to the children’s ward at The Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran earlier this week to help deliver some festive cheer ahead of Christmas.
Supported by the Dragons Community team, several players visited the hospital and – thanks to our Headline Partners Dragon Signs UK and VX3 – gave out some Christmas gifts.
Club captain Ben Carter, Chris Coleman, Oli Andrew, Huw Anderson, and Evan Minto were able to gift the children and staff at the hospital some early Christmas presents as we looked to raise spirits around the festive period.
We also gave out match tickets to the staff to thank them for the care they give to the children and all the hard work they put in, not just at Christmas, but throughout the year!
It was great to see so many smiles on faces during a difficult time for the children, their families, and staff.
It was a privilege to make the visit ahead of Christmas, and we are grateful to the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) for giving us the opportunity to visit.

RODNEY PARADE TO HOST BUCS SUPER RUGBY FINALS!
The British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals are Wales bound and coming to the home of Dragons RFC!
The competition is heading across the border for this season’s BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals to the iconic Rodney Parade.
Last season Loughborough men and Hartpury women landed the ultimate prizes in BUCS rugby union, but who will take the glory on Welsh soil?
Will Roberts, BUCS CEO, commented: “We’re extremely excited to be taking the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals to Rodney Parade. Thank you to Dragons RFC, Newport RFC, Newport County and the WRU for the opportunity to host the finals at an incredible stadium.
“And also thank you to AHDB for their ongoing support with the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals. Their ongoing support for BUCS sport and BSR has ensured this season is the biggest and best we’ve ever had.
“The finals are always a fantastic occasion, and this year will be no different.”
Rodney Parade is the home of Dragons RFC, Newport RFC and Newport County. It is the second oldest sports venue used in the Football League, after Deepdale.
After two seasons at the StoneX, the home of Saracens, The Welsh ground will now play host to the men’s and women’s finals of the ‘best leagues in the land’.
The finals will be taking place on Wednesday 16 April and ticket information will be released soon.
Dragons RFC CEC Rhys Blumberg said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be chosen to host the BUCs Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals at Rodney Parade and to bring this prestigious event to Wales for the very first time.
“It’s a huge privilege for Rodney Parade to be chosen, after a rigorous and competitive tender process from clubs right across England and Wales. We look forward to welcoming the teams and supporters to home for a truly special day of rugby.
“Top-flight university rugby has been grabbing a lot of positive attention in recent seasons with the BUCs finals, the pinnacle of university rugby, growing year on year.
“We are delighted that a fantastic crop of incredible talent, that will all hope to go on to achieve great things in our sport following their time at university, will be on show at Rodney Parade and encourage our fans and the Welsh rugby public to get right behind the event.”
🐉 We're delighted to announce that to recognise our successful partnership with Pledgeball, the charity is appearing on our alternate jersey as part of a series of 🆕 sustainability pledges made by the club 👍

Thanks for your support and good luck for the remainder of the season.
Santa enjoyed meeting your Marlborough RFC family last night Dragons RFC and wishes you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄
🐉 Our staff and players have been out in the community this week visiting the local clubs that have been impacted so severely by #StormBert
From legendary kit men Tinks & Gatchy helping teams wash and dry kit, to our players helping clean up grounds and Dragons Community staff giving out signed jerseys - thanks to VX3 - to auction off to raise funds, we’re determined to continue our support.
We’re also inviting volunteers from those clubs to our game versus Montpellier for free as a thank you for all their hard work during the big clean-up.
Our thoughts and support remain with all the clubs so badly affected ❤️ #RugbyFamily#WeAreGwentRugby
