There’s a lot of talk about ‘creatives’ and it can often feels like an umbrella term. What exactly is a creative? At deya, we define creatives as not just the painter, dancer, or visual artist - it’s also the strategist, the marketer or the founder! Those who work in the creative industries whose roles don’t always spring to mind straight away, but whose input is equally as important and necessary. Here are some funding opps for creatives 💥 #GetFunded #FundingOpportunies #CreativeFunding https://www.deya.world/

Previously at Deya… (the film in me is still strong 🤣) Our dream team has been hard at work! Here are our latest wins and losses: 💥Took home my first award at the Advertising Week & LinkedIn’s Future Is Female! 💥Submitted 3 funding bids which we’re waiting to hear back on 🤞🏾 💥Won a grant at the Foundervine's Wray Forward Pitch Night, securing a grant to propel our growth and innovation 💥Collaborated with Jamie Wilson Productions Ltd and Lyric Hammersmith Theatre to offer over 340 free and discounted tickets for the Deya community 💥Had an inspiring ideation session with the team (& ate delicious Venezuelan food after! If you’re ever in Haggerston, check out Arepas) 🌪Last month we shared that we were shortlisted for Forbes Family Group’s Table Cap Competition. After multiple public rounds, we made it to the quarter-finals, but didn’t get through to pitch to the judges. That said, the Deya community really showed up to support us and the visibility was great! So, duality ☯️ 🌪Didn't hear back re funding opportunity that we interviewed for (fundraising can be such a rollercoaster.. but that’s a convo for another time) 🌪Summer time naturally means more team members are on holiday, which you really feel as a small team! Last week we had an unforgettable evening at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre with our incredible community of Black creatives. We secured a block of seats for the press night of the critically acclaimed play, Wedding Band, and the night was nothing short of electrifying ⚡️ Connecting with our community IRL is always so energising and it’s so beautiful connecting with talented Black creatives. Thank you Lyric Hammersmith for partnering with us. Where the money resides 💸 I'm proud to share that Deya was selected as a winner at the WrayForward Pitch Night last week, securing a grant to propel our growth and innovation! Hosted by Foundervine and Campari Group, the WrayForward Pitch night provides a platform for startups and entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and compete for funding opportunities. Big congrats our very own Abigail Maria Sol, who took home the Future is Female award last night. So very well deserved, in the words of the Advertising Week’s judges “she basically is creativity”. We’re SO excited for the future of Deya. We’re loading.. watch this space 🚀

About last night. I'm incredibly honoured to announce that I won the Future is Female Award! 🙌🏾 This recognition means so much in celebrating the achievements of women leaders and innovators across industries. A huge congratulations to all nominees and my fellow winners Anastasia Brand, Anna MacDonald, Chloe Davies, Claire Gillis, Flavilla Fongang, Kamiqua Lake (nèe Pearce), Sarah Parkes, Charlotte Mullan and Stefanie Sword-Williams FRSA (she/her). Your work is inspiring and driving meaningful change. I'm grateful to be in the remarkable company of such trailblazers. This award is a testament to the growing power of women's voices. While there's still progress to be made, I'm energised by the momentum behind elevating female leaders and creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces and communities. It’s this drive towards inclusivity that is at the heart of Deya. Thank you to Advertising Week and LinkedIn. Cheers to celebrating a future that is female! 🥂 #WomenInTech #FutureIsFemale #WomenInnovators

Lately at Deya 🙋🏽♀️ It’s felt like a rollercoaster at times, but it’s so worth it. Here’s the highs and lows of this month: 💥Shortlisted for the Advertising Week’s Future Is Female award 💥Submitted 6 funding bids which we’re waiting to hear back on 💥Invited to the EU Start-Up Summit in Malta 💥Invited to attend Forbes Family Group's Cap Table Competition Scaling and Investment Readiness Training, powered by HSBC Innovation Banking 💥Approached by a leading publication that wants to spotlight Deya when we launch later in the year 💥Completely switched off and recharged in Zanzibar, because resting is a win too! 🌪Had to turn down an amazing peer-support network opportunity due to a clash 🌪Turned down for a funding opportunity that we put ourselves forward for 🌪Timelines shifting had costly knock-on effects It's crazy how despite the list of wins being so much longer, I'm often skewed towards a negative bias! Does anyone else feel like this? ⬇️ #WomenInTech #GetFunded #CreativeStartUp #BlackCreative
