So i just came back this morning from my DevOpsDays London! And I wanted to give you an insight on how my days went! First I must say that I enjoyed the DevOpsDays London very much. I appreciate how much they made an effort to include everyone and let them feel welcome. I know that I did. Even though I am more of a shy person myself, i got to suggest topics for Open Spaces without putting myself too much out there. Also I highly appreciated the Silent Room, which was offered. I met a lot of very nice people, supporting people. I had a couple of great talks and overall a couple of amazing days. I exchanged experience and meanwhile had a lot of fun. The QEII Centre was an amazing place with enough Space for everyone. The Food was nice. The Security was very friendly! The Topics I was most looking forward to, blew me away. Shoutout to Hannah Foxwell and Heather Thacker at this point. I love a good Talk about Baking and AI. The Time flew by so fast I didn't have the Chance to talk to all the people I wanted to. Ssince I am a person, who takes a lot of time to get the courage to talk to someone, but overall I loved it. It was my first DevOpsDay ever and I hope I'll be able to come to the next one as well.

WOW, #DevOpsDaysLondon2024 was absolutely mind-blowing!! I had the incredible opportunity to speak at DevOpsDays London last Friday, and it was, without a doubt, one of the best moments of my year. The week kicked off with a memorable speaker’s dinner on Wednesday. I had such a great time connecting with fellow speakers - bowling, feasting and bonding. A personal highlight was meeting Patrick Debois, the godfather of DevOps, and having a conversation about Eco-DevOps. The conference itself was packed with incredible sessions, starting on Thursday, with brilliant speakers sharing invaluable insights! I was honored to kick off the Ignite Talks on Friday, where I shared my thoughts on Eco-DevOps and how we, as an industry, can work together to create more sustainable tech solutions. Massive thanks to the DevOpsDays London organizers for the opportunity and thoughtful gifts 🎁. I sincerely appreciate your hard work and generosity. ❤️ A special shoutout to Sophie Weston for carrying me along all the way! You’re the real MVP! And of course, kudos to all the incredible speakers who took the time to share their knowledge with the community. I learnt a whole lot from you all. 📝 Heather Thacker Adrienne Braganza Tacke Sorrel Harriet, PhD Carly Richmond Emmanuel Ahaiwe 🚀Becky Pauley Mam Joof James Wynne John Willis Daniel "phrawzty" Maher Andreia Otto Ravikanth Mogulla Rob Lazzurs Ashley Sawatsky Matthew Skelton Lorenzo Turrino Suzanne Daniels Daiany Palacios Anaïs Urlichs Hannah Foxwell Last but not the least, a huge thank you to the amazing audience for your energy and engagement, it made the experience even more memorable. 🌟 What an incredible two days at DevOps London 2024! 🌟 I had the pleasure of attending the DevOps London conference on Thursday, 26th and Friday, 27th of September, where I got to dive deep into the latest trends and best practices in the DevOps world. 🚀 From inspiring speakers to amazing conversations in the open spaces, the event was packed with valuable insights on automation, onboarding, collaboration, incident management, continuous improvement, and more. It was also a great opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals and expand my network with industry leaders. 🤝 Some key takeaways: • AI and Automation are increasingly important – while AI won’t necessarily take jobs, mastering automation will give you a competitive edge. • Effective Code Reviews – A strong code review process is more than just approving changes. It starts with being your own first reviewer, making small, atomic changes, and using automation for tasks like formatting. This frees reviewers to focus on the core logic and structure of the code. • SRE transitions – The shift to SRE is driven by the need for faster time to market, scaling infrastructure, reducing costs, and leveraging MACH architecture (microservices, APIs, cloud-native, headless). • Making Better Decisions in Incident Response – Focus on blameless retrospectives. Automate repeatable tasks like notifying senior leaders. Assume the worst in problem-solving and prioritize data protection according to company priorities. A huge thanks to the organizers and speakers for putting on such a fantastic event. Feeling inspired and ready to apply these learnings in my current and future projects — and of course, in future job roles! 💡 DevOpsDays London #DevOpsDays #DevOps #DevOpsLondon

Now, that's a wrap on DevOpsDays London 2024! 🎉 I had an incredible time learning, networking, and collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. This was my first tech conference since transitioning into tech, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! From engaging sessions to insightful workshops, every moment was filled with inspiration. A big shoutout to the speakers for sharing their expertise and the organizers for putting together such an amazing event! Some of my personal highlights included: 🙃 - Networking with Peers: As a newbie, meeting fellow tech enthusiasts and exchanging ideas was invigorating. Hearing about their different technologies and their unique approaches to challenges opened my eyes to the breadth of possibilities in the field. - Ashley Sawatsky's Talk: Her talk on handling incidents was insightful and practical. I walked away with actionable tips on approaching and learning from incidents more effectively. - Matthew Skelton’s Talk: His talk, "DevOps Topologies 10 Years On," explored what’s holding back lower-performing organizations from improving their IT delivery performance. Ten years after the first State of DevOps Report and the original DevOps Topologies, Matthew shed light on the persistent issues with silos, collaboration, and flow that many companies still face today. It was a deep dive into why some organizations struggle to adopt and scale DevOps practices..Additionally, he provided the auidence with some great book recommendations. -Olakunle Abiola’s Eco-DevOps Talk: His insights on "Building a Greener Future" were eye-opening. It was inspiring to learn how we can contribute to sustainability and positively impact the environment through tech. I feel inspired and excited to apply what I've learned. Until next time, DevOpsDays! Thank you, Sophie Weston, 🙏 for the invite—it was a pleasure! #devopsdays #devopsdayslondon #devops #TechConference #Networking #Learning #IncidentManagement #DevOpsTopologies
