Derby and District Law Society
Legal Services
The main role of the society is to support the profession locally. It can help the public find a solicitor.
About us
The Society offers training, social events and represents members’ interests. The Society is able to help members of the public find a local solicitor with a particular specialism. Trace a solicitor or firm where there has been a change of name, merger or closure. The Derby Law Society came into being in early 1886. It is managed by a Committee and is divided up into various sub-committees representing different areas of the Law. The committees meet regularly throughout the year and are elected annually at the AGM in May. The Committee is assisted by an Administrator, Julia Saunders admin@derbylaw.net

We had 43 silent 999 calls in November where we were needed at the scene immediately – that’s more than one every single day 😞 📱 Most of these calls were from people suffering domestic abuse, who couldn't say much but urgently needed our help to escape a desperate situation or confide in officers what had happened to them 🏠 🚓 Did you know? Dialling 55 after calling 999 alerts police operators that you need help but are in a situation where you can't talk. Pressing 55 lets the 999 operator know your call is genuine, and they will try to track your location. If you can't speak, listen carefully to the questions and instructions from our demand hub call agents so they can assess your call and arrange help.
