We are based in Birmingham, Bath, Hampshire, Surrey and three offices in London (Bromley, Ealing and Whitechapel), these UK wide services have enabled us to continually grow and develop. deafPLUS has a long history of innovation in the deaf community – we introduced Textphones to the UK in the 1970s, Email and Deaf Awareness training in the 1980s, and we were the first to introduce a Mobile Advice Service in the 1980s. Our main activities are: • Information, Advice and Guidance • Advocacy • Employment & Training • Personal support and development • Deaf Awareness Training • Lipreading and Hearing loss rehabilitation • Equipment assessment and fitting • DeafBlind support • Personal Budgets and Brokerage Our organisation is experienced with an excellent track record in working in Employment and Advocacy Services. Our staff who work with clients are deaf themselves to ensure communication needs are met and there is full empathy with the client. The charity is experienced in promoting and maintaining a positive and inclusive practice between deaf and hearing people; working with them both to achieve equal status and recognition.

Ever wonder what inclusion feels like for a deaf person? This is exactly what it can look like when faced with challenges, especially when most public and official documents are not designed with BSL users in mind. At deafPLUS, we’re committed to breaking these barriers to help Deaf and hard of hearing people live independently and manage their own affairs. Through our specialised advice services, we provide vital support—navigating housing, benefits, and overcoming communication challenges. This holiday season, help us make a positive difference by supporting Deaf individuals in their journey towards independence and empowerment. Donate today and make an impact: https://lnkd.in/e2zQKq-J

This festive season, we’re reflecting on the incredible work we’ve achieved together. A massive shoutout to Grant, one of our amazing volunteers, who was thrilled with his voucher and gimbal—both well deserved for his dedication! We’re even prouder that Grant, who is deaf, continues to go above and beyond by learning new skills and building confidence. This is a shining example of the full impact deafPLUS has on its community. To the Board of Trustees, creativmoves and everyone who has contributed donations so far—thank you for making moments like these possible. We couldn’t have come this far without your unwavering support. Together, we’re making a difference! 💙 P.s. if you haven’t already please support Grants amazing video work and donate to allow us to keep supporting our community. https://lnkd.in/e2zQKq-J #thankyou #justgiving #volunteers #donations #deafcommunity
