With a passionate team of architects and designers, we’re driven by improving the space that people inhabit through great design. Introduction: The Directors at DAY have wide ranging experience, across multiple sectors. As the practice has grown, we have built a team of highly skilled and talented architects, technicians, technologists and interior designers, and as a result we can allocate the right people at the right time to each project. Every project is afforded the same level of thought, diligence and care as the next. We thrive on engrossing ourselves in a scheme and taking the time to genuinely understand each of our clients’ specific needs. An inclusive and collaborative approach to design is encouraged by the Directors and engendered amongst the entire team. Combined with considered resourcing, commercial awareness, and positive and meaningful engagement, the result is delivery of buildings, interiors and masterplan solutions that truly work for our clients. We’re committed to the design process and actively encourage our clients to be part of our own internal method of design review. It’s an important part of the way we work, and we find that inviting clients to be part of this design development helps to stimulate genuine stakeholder investment in the project. This ultimately adds real and quantifiable value and ensures delivery of an end product that is on brief, on programme and on budget. Last week, we had our fabulous Christmas do with a fantastic day of fun and teamwork. Kicking things off in the office, we enjoyed quizzes, games, and awards, paired with delicious food and drinks. The adventure continued at the Crystal Maze Experience, where our competitive sides came out as we tackled the challenges and shared plenty of laughs. We wrapped up the evening with a festive dinner and well-deserved drinks, celebrating a great year together. We’re proud to share the successful completion of the new Oldham Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) Modular Endoscopy Facility! 🎉 This two-storey, state-of-the-art building represents a major advancement in providing faster, more accessible diagnostic services to the community helping to speed up diagnoses for cancer patients. The facility includes: - Three advanced endoscopy rooms equipped with cutting-edge technology - Four consulting rooms, recovery zones, a patient waiting area, and supporting ancillary spaces This purpose-built unit will enable quicker access to life-saving diagnostic tests, improving outcomes for patients in the local community. Thanks to the incredible collaboration between the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, MTX Contracts Ltd, DSSR, DAY Project Management, DAY Cost Management Ltd and the entire project team. On Friday I had the opportunity of joining Leeds School of Architecture at Leeds Beckett University as a guest tutor, offering feedback to undergraduate students on their very first architecture projects. It was so refreshing to listen to their bold ideas on how to create a temporary structure for a festival in a deconstructivist milieu like the Parc de la Villette. The brief was tackled with free hand sketching and creative models as part of their design process and graphic communication learning. By the end of the day, we traded our crit hats for Santa hats and joined in the festive activities organised by Carma, Head of 1st Year Students, to celebrate the last hours before the winter break. We are thrilled to announce the completion of the Skegness Community Diagnostic Centre! 🎉 The one-storey structure features: • Plain film X-ray • Non-obstetric ultrasound • Echocardiogram • MRI • CT • Chemotherapy blood services • Physiological testing services – including blood tests, standard ECGs, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, spirometry, and FeNO testing This innovative facility will offer patients quicker access to critical diagnostic tests and scans, improving health outcomes across the region. Built using modern methods of construction, the project demonstrates how collaboration and cutting-edge design can revolutionise healthcare delivery. The unit was designed and constructed in under 16 months.
