  • We want to hear your views on our plans to adopt a ‘digital first’ approach to public services.   Our newly developed five year Digital Darlington strategy outlines our ambitions to ensure the right tools and systems are in place to enable people to self-serve where they can so that physical resources can be focused on the people who need our help the most. This includes our intention to:   ✔️ design online services around the customer, making sure they are easy to access and use ✔️ consider the barriers preventing our customers from accessing our services online ✔️ raise awareness of our online services, encourage people to use these and build trust in their usefulness ✔️ maximise the benefits of existing digital systems and explore emerging technologies.   The strategy is available for comment until Sunday 12 January 2025 at https://lnkd.in/eMnZp3fT   Our new Customer Services strategy, which sets out how we will deliver excellent customer services that are easy to use and provide value for money, is also available for comment at this link.   Hard copy versions and feedback forms are available at Darlington Library on Crown Street.

  • Combining education with on-the-job training, apprenticeships are a great way to prepare people aged 16 and over for the labour market, or to nurture and develop existing employees looking to progress in their roles. They offer people the chance to earn a wage while developing their knowledge, skills and experience, as well as supporting employers to build and retain a workforce that is specifically trained to meet their business needs.   Learning & Skills in Darlington currently offer more than 25 apprenticeships, ranging from level 2 to 5, across a wide range of occupations. Apprentices can start with them at any point in the year and tuition can be delivered in a variety of ways to suit the needs of your business. This includes day/half day release, remote learning and workplace delivery.   If you're interested in joining the 35 employers already working with them, or want to know more about their apprenticeships programmes or how they can assist with recruitment, funding or grants, visit https://lnkd.in/eA_KEjPT or contact graham.curry@Darlington.gov.uk
