Executive Producer | Development - Goalhanger

A hill I will die on is that the only influence and power that matters is birthed out of a supportive community and I have been lucky enough to have worked for, with and alongside so many incredible people who have shaped and built my career to this point. So THANK YOU - in no particular order. The team at the Roundhouse Trust in London. Who every day do incredible work supporting a new generation of talent. I was one once, happy I get to pass it on. Marcus Davey Marie Horner Derek Richards FRSA Delia Barker The team at Creative Access who gave me my first salaried role in the sector after years of voluntary internships. Josie Dobrin OBE The entirety of the Multitrack community, the board, the steering group, every fellow. The work continues but they make it such a pleasure. Deborah Dudgeon Lisa Hack Arlie Adlington Laura Irving Paul Smith All of these groups are charities or CICs and need your support. Whether that is fundraising or mentoring. If you're reading this and work in the creative industry please consider supporting their work. It changes people’s lives. The incredible team at Reduced Listening I have learnt true leadership, craftmanship and joy working with you all. Joby Waldman Peter Meanwell Dan Jackson-Álvarez Sarah Kenny Viv Parry Anishka Sharma Kit Callin Cat Gough Silvia Malnati and everyone else Every producer, DJ and presenter from Transmission Roundhouse. Literally, if we ever came across each other - thank you. Especially Veronica ZN Shahlaa Tahira Bridey Addison-Child and Cherise Hamilton-Stephenson The whole team of Goalhanger for being so energizing, inspiring and welcoming. Especially our founders who took a chance on a producer they met at a garden party and trusted me with their ambitions. Tony Pastor Jack Davenport, Tom Whiter and GL. My industry powerhouses Leanne Alie Fran Plowright Chloe Straw and Aradhna Tayal Leach - who are truly at the top of their game and proving a different sort of leadership is possible. The entire team at AudioUK and the judging panel for considering me in the first place. What were you even thinking? Thank you. My family, friends, comrades and partners in crime. All things are possible through you. Especially Cliff Logan Colin Gillespie and Maureen Anderson for being such early role models for me in black excellence and community building. And finally, Beyonce, for showcasing my phrase for life ‘perfection as standard’. Congrats to Meera Kumar for winning Producer of the year and Adebukola Fadipe for her work on The Second Victim which won Best New Voice. Proud of you - this is just the start! Onwards.

🌿 Introducing our new trainees! 🌿 We’re thrilled to welcome Alyssa Hua, Sara Bellar, and Partha Mulay to Green Alliance as part of our new Positive Action Trainee Scheme with Creative Access. This initiative aims to kickstart careers in the environmental sector, with 12-month roles in our policy, politics and operations teams. Here’s what our trainees [from left to right] are looking forward to 👇 Alyssa Hua, operations trainee: “The evolving complexities in the current geopolitical and climate landscape offer a unique opportunity to see how Green Alliance uses its platform to drive conversations, turn ambition into action and strengthen the UK's leadership for a greener, more prosperous future. I'm excited to observe how Green Alliance ensures smooth operations and participate in senior-level meetings to witness how resources are strategically allocated both within the organisation and externally to make change happen.” Sara Bellar, politics trainee: "With the recent US election, COP29 conference, G20 meeting and budget release, this has been an incredibly exciting time to begin my traineeship. I am looking forward to exploring the impacts of these developments on the sector and build my experience while contributing to meaningful work in this dynamic landscape."  Partha Mulay, policy trainee: “With green economy issues such as natural capital and transport decarbonisation gaining significant governmental focus recently, it's a fascinating time to join Green Alliance. I'm eager to apply my multidisciplinary knowledge into practice during my traineeship, working with and learning from our teams to deliver ambitious sustainability change.”   We look forward to supporting their training over the next year. 🎉

  • Reflecting on 2024 and the wise words shared with us by our wide network of industry pros at this year’s Creative Access masterclasses ✨🌟 Which one sticks with you the most? 📝 "For writer’s block, try copying inspiring writing into a word document. It gets you used to technical details and you’ll absorb the practice through osmosis. I did this every day and within 6 months, my writing shot up to a different level." - Aniefiok Ekpoudom, Author & journalist 💫 "Remember: no one can set the value of your work. For artists, it’s messy because our identity is so tied to our work. I try to remember that the system I’m operating in wasn’t designed for me so where are my entry points and how can I bring value?" Nancy Medina, Artistic director, Bristol Old Vic 💡 "Aim for rejection – if you aim for one ‘no’ a week, at least you’re putting yourself out there, and one day that ‘no’ will be a ‘yes’." Isabella Silvers, Freelance journalist ✨ "There’s only one you. Whatever you like doing – use that! For example, I was the organiser in my family. I didn’t know that skill could mean I’d become a coordinator. Find that skill and run with it." Modupe Aluko, Post-production manager, Potato 📧 "Persistence is key. I’ve never received an email from someone who loves politics and wants to learn about TV and not been really flattered by that. It’s ok to follow up and say ‘hey, sorry if you’re busy can I follow up on this’. It does lead to things, even if it doesn’t lead to a job." Kishan Koria, Editor, Peston 📱 "Don’t get disheartened and feel pressured by other people’s successes. Make sure you present yourself online and shout about your work so that people notice you. Use free online websites like SquareSpace and Instagram to display your work." Lorna Leigh Harrington, Senior designer, Aardman 💻 "Don’t use ChatGPT to write job applications. We can read straight through it; it doesn’t convey the sense of passion and desire to work here. A green flag is showcasing your passion for books in your cover letter." Andy Joannou, Audience development director, Pan Macmillan 📑 "I don’t like getting CVs with a photo on, I like taking people as they come. Just let your skills shine, don’t hold yourself back, and if you have a story to tell, be proud to tell it." Dan Moller, Head of creative shop UK, Meta ⭐️ "What excites me the most is the range of storytelling... the new generation of playwrights expressing how they feel about what it means to be British, whatever ethnicity, class, sexuality, and then bringing it to the stage. Those questions are important." Roy Williams, Playwright Thank you to every single employer we've partnered with to put on a great evening for our community, we couldn't do it without you! • The photo is of a recent viral meme of actress, Emma Roberts. She's a white woman with long blonde hair, wearing a black outfit, smiling awkwardly at the camera. The overlaid text reads, "Me when my family ask how the job hunt is going," implying the smile is forced or uneasy in response to the question.
