🏫🎒Three of our team members had an amazing time last week visiting Dreghorn Primary School for STEM week! 🔬🧪📐🧬🤖 Maura Allan, Graeme Cutt, and Jaxon McCracken talked to all the kids from Primary 1 through to Primary 7 about the different types of STEM careers, how they each managed to get into their areas of expertise, and what they love about working in the space industry. 🔭🛰 They shared 3D models of some of Craft’s tech, and even played a little cryptography game to teach them about quantum encryption. The kids had a great time and asked lots of questions. 🛰🔭That’s a wrap on the RAL Space 20th Appleton Space Conference🚀🪐 What a fantastic day of inspiration at European Space Agency - ESA's Magali Vaissiere Conference Centre. James Conning was onsite all day representing Craft and absorbing exciting ideas. The conversations developing around quantum optical technologies, a key differentiator for the UK space industry, are especially exciting for Craft Prospect. This is where our core capability in #QuantumKeyDistribution and our work on #OpsSatVOLT really comes to the forefront. Thanks so much to all the speakers for their thought-provoking presentations:  Dr Alice Bunn OBE FIMechE FRAeS CEng, President of UKspace and Chief Exec of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE); Laurent Jaffart of European Space Agency - ESA's European Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications (ECSAT); Leah-Nani Alconcel of the UK Quantum Technology Hub in Sensing, Imaging and Timing (QuSIT); and Paul Bate of UK Space Agency. It was great to talk with Martin Barstow of Space Park Leicester, and we're looking forward to catching him again next week at the 5th Polish-British Science Forum: Space. We also thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Omar Iqbal (FIET FRAeS CEng CSEP Cantab), Philip Kershaw, and Stuart Martin. 🎊We are so thrilled to be part of this Glasgow City Innovation District initiative.🚀💪 🦛🌈Through our HYPPO project (Hyperspectral Processing Onboard), we are demonstrating AI-driven cloud masking on hyperspectral Earth observation data in order to prioritise high-value data for transmission and help tackle the bottleneck created by on-board storage and downlink limitations. The project is aimed specifically at Simera Sense's HyperScape100 optical payload. 🔭🌥 Our warmest thanks to GCID for their support on this project. ✨Space Tech Expo 2024 Recap✨ 🤝🥃 The UK Pitching Session and Whisky Tasting sponsored by Scottish Development International was an absolute highlight. With over 300 attendees and 26 pitches, the ingenuity of the UK space industry was on full display.💡We loved the insight from HM Ambassador to Germany Andrew Mitchell that 17% of UK exports are related to space technology. 🛰🚢 As a leader in space engineering focused on smart technology and secure comms, Craft Prospect are proud to see such growth and vitality in our sector of the economy.
