We’re excited to announce that CMR Surgical has been granted U.S. FDA Marketing Authorization for the use of #Versius in Cholecystectomy. The FDA marketing authorization of #Versius is a significant milestone, with Versius being the first multi-port, soft tissue general surgical Robotic Assisted Surgical Device (RASD) to successfully be authorized through FDA’s De Novo application process. Versius is a RASD intended to assist in the precise and accurate control of Versius Surgical endoscopic instruments and is indicated in the U.S. for adult patients 22 years of age and older, eligible for soft tissue minimal access surgery, for cholecystectomy. • As 2024 draws to a close, we're taking the time to look back at the moments and memories that shaped our year. To round out this series, we want to take the opportunity to thank all our clinical partners around the world that supported us in our mission to transform surgery, with #Versius now having been used to perform more than 28,000 surgical cases globally. The small, portable design of the system has supported over 75% of our hospital partners to use #Versius across two or more surgical specialties. #Versius has been most used across urology, general surgery, gynaecology and colorectal surgery, as well as among a growing base of thoracic surgeons. We're proud to have reached this exciting milestone as we continue to work in partnership with hospitals and surgeons around the world to bring minimal access surgery to everyone who needs it. We hope that you have all had a wonderful 2024, and wish everyone a safe and happy 2025. Thank you for supporting us in our journey to make robotic-assisted minimal access surgery more accessible for patients around the world with #Versius. #CMRSurgical #TransformingSurgery

  • As 2024 draws to a close, we're taking the time to look back at the moments and memories that shaped our year. We rounded out a series of product releases in the Versius Plus offering with the launch of the Ultrasonic Dissector - a robotic advanced energy instrument delivering ultrasonic energy to cut and coagulate tissue. Developed to deliver ultrasonic energy via a torsional design, the Ultrasonic Dissector is the first instrument launch in our advanced energy instrument range. The Ultrasonic Dissector provides surgeons with a new option for haemostatic coagulation and simultaneous cutting, with multiple, surgeon-selectable modes to suit each procedural need. • As 2024 draws to a close, we're taking the time to look back at the moments and memories that shaped our year. We were thrilled to commence the world’s first multicentre prospective clinical trial on the use of #Versius in paediatric surgery. Taking place in three clinical sites across the NHS – University Hospital Southampton NHS FT's Southampton Children’s Hospital, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust's Evelina London Children's Hospital, and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust's Royal Manchester Children's Hospital – the prospective clinical study will assess the safety and efficacy of Versius, for use in urological procedures in paediatric surgery. • As 2024 draws to a close, we're taking the time to look back at the moments and memories that shaped our year. Throughout the year we've had the privilege of supporting some incredible community engagement initiatives and charitable causes in partnership with some of our hospital and community partners. These have included: 🧗♀️ Welcoming some of the Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust team to raise money in support of Royal Papworth Hospital Charity - with climbers from CMR and Royal Papworth working together to take-on an indoor rock-climbing challenge to raise much-needed funds to support the hospital's incredible work. 🤖 Hosting a special naming ceremony with Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (MKUH) featuring a #Versius come and try for local school children who named MKUH's two #Versius surgical robots - now known a Dr Bot and Dex! 💼 Partnered with Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to bring Versius to the Malmesbury School careers day, giving 90 students the opportunity to get hands on experiences with #Verisus and Versius in VR alongside the opportunity to hear from robotic surgeons, nurses and allied health professionals; and about jobs in STEM. 🏃 Running the Cambridge Half Marathon to raise much needed funds for Rowan - an independent charity, arts centre, and forest school for adults with learning disabilities. Since 1984 Rowan have offered a safe, creative, and enriching environment where the arts are used as a tool to bring people together and tackle social exclusion. 🍰 Our teams getting together to take part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning to bake, reconnect and raise funds in aid of the incredible work facilitated by Macmillan Cancer Support

  • As 2024 draws to a close, we're taking the time to look back at the moments and memories that shaped our year. In May, we hosted our third annual UK All Sites meeting at our global manufacturing facility in Ely. #CMRAllSitesUK bought together over 50 #Versius surgeons from across the UK to network, share their learnings and experiences with Versius to guide future developments, discover the technology behind the system, and see what‘s next for Versius. We’re proud to work so closely with our surgeon partners, and have opportunities such as these to collaborate, and to celebrate their achievements with #Versius. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made #CMRAllSitesUK 2024 a phenomenal success! #TransformingSurgery Sonpreet Rai James Henderson Tamsyn Grey

  • As 2024 draws to a close, we're taking the time to look back at the moments and memories that shaped our year. From the 6th-7th July 2024, we hosted the first-ever 'Global Robotic Surgery Summit: Robotic Surgery, then, now and beyond' - a free, virtual event in partnership with Surgery International, bringing together the global surgical community. This first-of-its-kind global summit bought together leading experts in surgery to shine a light on the future of robotic surgery around the world, and unpack some of the big questions facing the field, including: 🔎 Truth or hype: Does AI/digital bring value to the OR? 🔎 Standardisation - Are we really ready to train our future robotic surgeons? 🔎 Why are we still debating lap vs surgical robotics? 🔎 Is robotic surgery really a luxury? In addition to panel sessions, delegates took part in a series of specialty focused interactive evidence-based robotic workshops where they had the opportunity to ask questions of, and engage, with the global surgical community, and have their say on the future of training, the importance of safety in medical devices and how technology can build a more equitable surgical workforce.

  • As 2024 draws to a close, we're taking the time to look back at the moments and memories that shaped our year. In February we introduced #vLimeLite – a new imaging technology to visualise ICG, enhancing visualisation during surgery. Versius Plus became the first CE marked surgical robot on the market to offer an integrated ICG system with multiple viewing modes and colour displays to visualise ICG. The launch of vLimeLite marked the first product launch in a series of 2024 product releases as part of #Versius Plus, a significant enhancement to the existing #Versius system.
