Before signing off for the Christmas holidays, I'd like to share my reflections on the first three months of the CIWEM (The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) Presidency 🙂 It's been fantastic to travel around and meet our members at Branch and Group events, including the Urban Drainage Group, Yorkshire and Humber and a Fresh Water Future conferences as well as the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme opening and Past Presidents Meeting in London. I've also been grateful for the opportunity to share my CIWEM journey through our Presidential blog and thoughts on flood resilience and adaptation in the latest episode of the Planet Possible podcast. Our Junior President Peter Rook and I have lots of exciting plans for 2025, including joint events with CIWEMs Branches around the UK and the world and a series of joint webinars with the British Hydrological Society in February. We'll be hosting the first Presidential conference in the Midlands in April and we are looking forward to taking part in the Rivers and Coastal Group conference in the spring and Flood and Coast in June amongst other exciting events! We'd love the chance to meet more CIWEM members throughout the remaining nine months of our Presidential terms.
