Introducing The Engineers Reuse Collective - launched today! 🏗️🌍 Our team at Civic Engineers has joined forces with Buro Happold, Elliott Wood, Heyne Tillett Steel, Webb Yates Engineers and Whitby Wood to launch The Engineers Reuse Collective (tERC) — a not-for-profit initiative focused on accelerating the reuse of materials in the built environment, with the goal of achieving a Net Zero Carbon future. The first of its kind, our collective is supported by The Institution of Structural Engineers. Through knowledge-sharing, roadmap production, advocacy and collaboration, we’re working to remove barriers and push for industry-wide adoption of the circular economy. The built environment industry contributes around 25% of the UK's carbon emissions, with embodied carbon making up a significant portion of this figure. By championing reuse and circular economy principles, tERC aims to drastically reduce carbon emissions while promoting sustainable practices across the sector. Find out more in the link in comments 👇 📣 Could your company be our next member? We’re looking for additional engineering practices to join the movement and help shape the future of sustainable construction. If you're passionate about making a positive impact, reach out to our lead Andy Yates (andy.yates@terc.org.uk) to get involved. “The climate crisis is here and as engineers we need to accelerate our actions to transition our built environment to zero carbon.” 📸 Thanks to: Andy Matthews Studio #CircularEconomy #NetZero #Sustainability #tERC #Reuse #ClimateAction Gareth Atkinson Tom Webster Anna Beckett James Morgan Harriet Browning Thomas Hesslenberg Robert Mills Laura Batty Ben Tapley
