About us
There's a large body of research telling us that female founders don't get investment at anywhere near the same levels as their male counterparts. They are asked more negative questions during the pitching process than men. Their businesses are valued lower if they are trying to enter what is perceived to be a male industry. In the start-up world, where there is a lack of objective evidence about the quality of a venture, just being a woman is a strike against you. At Breakthrough Labs, we think this is a big problem, and we are doing something about it. We understand the unique challenges that female founders encounter on their journeys, and offer research-backed support to ensure that more female-founded start-ups thrive. Our programmes support female founders of tech start-ups at various stages of their development, whether they are pitching for funding or trying to bring their innovative ideas to market. We help women build their networks by nurturing a community of other female founders, successful entrepreneurs, and subject-matter experts who can provide expertise and guidance. And we provide access to syndicates of angel investors and individual angels committed to investing in women.
