About us
Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby. We need help to support the already stretched NHS to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to 100,000 families with a baby in neonatal care each year. Tomorrow, more than 300 babies will be admitted to neonatal care. Help ensure they get the best care by visiting bliss.org.uk/support-bliss

This is Oscar who was born at 26weeks gestation. He had a bumpy road in NICU full of worry, stress and parent-guilt for siblings at home. When he came home at ‘term’ the anxiety came in the form of SATS monitors pinging and oxygen requirements. Four years on he now goes to school and is thriving! It is hard to relate to this healthy boy as the baby in this video. If only we had known this to be the case at the time- how much easier it would have been! How lucky we were to live in a developed country with the NHS during his stay. It hits hard to think of parents in the same situation but in war torn or deprived areas. Oscar as a result inspired the creation of Pickle and Tot which creates gifts for parents with children in hospital- essential and luxury items designed to provide comfort at a difficult time. Importantly 50% of profits go to children’s charities worldwide to share the love (this months charity is ‘Save the Children’.
