Best Companies 2024: A Year of Growth and Giving something back! 🎁 2024 has been a fantastic year at Best Companies! We've celebrated milestones, welcomed new team members, and given back to our community. Here are some of our highlights: ✨ Celebrating our team: We celebrated 9 service anniversaries, including 24 years of service from Glenn Dimelow and Sheila Edwards, 15 years of service from Beccy Martin, Sam Beaven and Liz Edwards, and 10 years from Anthony Webb, Jonathan Hart, Amy Maryniak, and Christopher Vardon. We also welcomed 9 new starters to the Best Companies family: Matt Wilkins, Ash Blackwell, Megan Bolam, Ellie Wood, Jonathan Kane, Keiran Wood, Ash Pierce, Sean Cottrell. ✨ Giving back: We raised £833 for charity through quizzes, a paint and auction event, a step challenge, and a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning. Our team also volunteered 15 days, including 10 days at North Clwyd Animal Rescue and 5 days packing over 800 shoeboxes for children in Ukraine at Teams4U. We also donated 6 crates to the Wrexham Foodbank. ✨ Creating a great workplace: Our chef Hannah and Café manager Lucy Yeates created over 31,800 lunches, including a delicious Christmas meal for the whole company last Thursday. We have also enjoyed 113 days in our new offices, which opened in August. ✨ Learning and development: We hosted the Wrexham Business & Community Awards judging day at Best Companies HQ and organised several internal events, including a visit to Oddfellows in Chester, a BBQ and sports day, a harvest festival, and an organisational health workshop. Our staff also spoke at 15 events and gained 15 qualifications as part of our learning and development program. ✨ Recognising our team: We celebrated 12 Shining Stars and 12 MVPs, nominated by their peers. How did Association for Project Management increase its revenue from £10 million to £16 million in four years? 💰 By working with Best Companies, APM’s employees have the opportunity to give their honest feedback about different aspects of their working lives through the bHeard survey. This feedback has given APM a deeper understanding of how its people feel about the organisation. By focusing on the areas highlighted for improvement, APM has gone from a ‘Ones to Watch’ to a 2-Star Accredited organisation in four years. Not only did it increase its revenue in this time, but its headcount rose by a third. “With Best Companies, we have gone from a Ones to Watch to a 2-Star over four years. If I just look at our revenue during that period, we've gone from being a £10-million-pound organisation to being a £16-million-pound organisation, and our workforce has increased by a third.
