We provide grants to the family of every child with cancer in Herefordshire, Powys, Worcestershire, Monmouthshire & Gloucestershire.
Be More Frank is a named charity fund set up in honour of Frank who died from a rare bone cancer, he was 13.
Are you part of a business, school, club or other organisation with a charity budget or events and if so, would your organisation consider supporting #BeMoreFrank in any way? Our vision is to be a guaranteed source of financial assistance to the family of every single child with cancer in the 5 counties we cover and beyond. We invite you to join us to help families during their darkest times.
If you would like support us, we would be happy to answer any questions. Be More Frank is a special named fund of the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust registered charity 1167783.
Be More Frank was set up in memory of the glorious Frank Cleal who at the age of 11 was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer named osteosarcoma. After 9 months of chemotherapy, 9 surgeries, and 2 legs full of metal replacing bone, he died 2 years later at home with his family in June 2021 aged 13.
Frank was funny, sarcastic and charming. During his illness he had a ‘get on with it’ attitude - he had no time for cancer and was cracking jokes until the end. His friends and family try to take a little of this forward in his honour: seize the day. Be braver. Be kinder. Be More Frank.
Frank’s family were overwhelmed by the support they received during Frank’s illness. One of the things they found most beneficial was financial support. The additional costs - particularly living so far from Birmingham Children’s Hospital - added up quickly. Food, fuel, parking, … one parent giving up work and the other limping through trying to hold down a job.
They feel it is important to help others in a similar position therefore the #BeMoreFrank fund has been established. So far we have raised over £115k.
With your help we can sustain the support we provide. Thank you!
