Happy St Andrew's Day On November 30th, we celebrate St Andrew, Scotland’s patron saint and once a fisherman. His legacy reminds us of the strength and pride in our heritage—symbolised by the saltire cross on our national flag. Wherever Scots may be, St Andrew’s Day is a time to think of home, cherish our traditions, gather with loved ones, and share the stories that keep Scotland close to our hearts. Let’s raise a toast to Scotland, its traditions, and its people. Slàinte! #StAndrewsDay #BakkafrostScotland

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, we’re proud to be sponsoring the Tiree Wave Classic for the 5th year as Native Hebridean, especially as the event celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Held annually on the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, the Tiree Wave Classic is recognised as one of the top windsurfing events worldwide. Renowned for its competitions and thrilling wave conditions, it attracts everyone from junior windsurfers to world-class pros. This year’s event welcomed a record-breaking turnout of athletes and spectators to the Isle. This event highlights the uniqueness of our Scottish waters. Competitors windsurfing in the same rugged waters where we carefully raise our Native Hebridean salmon, showcasing the remarkable blend of our remote Hebridean coastlines and the vibrant spirit of the Tiree Wave Classic. #TireeWaveClassic #NativeHebridean #HealthyCommunities

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a Project 81 Youth Community Enterprize Group at our Ardyne Site in collaboration with Loch Lomond Fisheries Trust. Supported by the Wild Fisheries Fund through Salmon Scotland, the overarching objectives of the project are to: (1) Stimulate and nourish an interest in the outdoor pursuit of sea trout angling in young people in Helensburgh and Lomond, east Argyll & Bute; (2) Embed aquatic conservation in the minds of our target young people; (3) Showcase to our young people how the range of salmonid industries in Scotland work together to better our understanding of salmonid populations; (4) Leave a legacy of: (a) Improved riparian and instream habitat for sea trout on an important local sea trout burn which is evaluated and enhanced annually; and (b) Establish an angling and conservation club, managed by Centre81 and the LLFT which will deliver angling activities and the conservation legacy. We were delighted to host the group at our Ardyne site in support of Objective 3. Our team offered valuable insights into various career opportunities and gave an in-depth look into Fish Farming. The Project 81 Youth Group showed great enthusiasm for the diverse roles within the industry and loved seeing the process of raising salmon. Overall, it was an engaging and enlightening day that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. In September, Scotland Food & Drink will celebrate what it means to be Naturally Scottish, showcasing the provenance, place, and people that bring our food and drink to life. It reflects heritage, commitment to sustainability, and spirit of innovation. We believe there's no better way to capture this essence than with our very own Native Hebridean Salmon. Our Native Hebridean Scottish Salmon are a truly unique breed, descending from wild salmon of North Uist in the remote outer Hebrides and raised on the Hebridean Islands and West Coast of Scotland. This September, we invite you to join us in celebrating the best of what it means to be Naturally Scottish. #NaturallyScottish #BakkafrostScotland #NativeHebridean

The Royal Highland Show drew to a close last Sunday, and we were absolutely delighted to attend and showcase our award-winning Native Hebridean smoked Scottish salmon. We were overwhelmed with the positive interest in our story and products, engaging with many new and returning customers who support our smoked Scottish salmon. On Friday, in the Food for Thought Theatre, the Scottish Culinary Chefs, Craig Palmer and Craig Coupar, did a wonderful job demonstrating simple yet elegant recipes using our Native Hebridean smoked salmon, which everyone found delicious.
