  • 🚢 Revolutionising River Transport: The UK’s First All-Electric Ferry Service is Coming! ⚡ Uber Boat by Thames Clippers is set to launch the Orbit Clipper, the UK’s first fully electric ferry, in March 2025. Currently under construction at Wight Shipyard in East Cowes, Isle of Wight, this pioneering vessel will replace the existing diesel ferry, marking a significant milestone in decarbonising the Thames. 🌱 🔋 Key Highlights: - Operating between Canary Wharf (north) and Rotherhithe (south), Orbit Clipper will carry 20,000 passengers daily. - Crossings every 10 minutes on weekdays and 15 minutes on weekends. - Supports Uber Boat’s goal to cut emissions by 50% by 2035 and achieve net-zero by 2050. This groundbreaking project features electric charging infrastructure developed by Aqua superPower, marking our first venture into commercial shipping. Matt Holland, Chief Project Engineer at Aqua superPower, shared: “This ship is testament to the knowledge and dedication of the project partners in overcoming the challenges to make it a reality. Our technology has come on leaps and bounds, both onshore and on the water, getting bigger and better. We’ve had so much interest from other operators over the course of the project, and it shows that it has helped to create knowledge in the UK that can now be exported to be used worldwide.” The Orbit Clipper isn’t just a step forward for the Thames—it’s a blueprint for sustainable river transport worldwide. 🌍 The Rotherhithe to Canary Wharf zero-emission ferry project is part of the Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition Round 3 (CMDC3), which was announced in September 2022, part funded by the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and delivered in partnership with Innovate UK. #SustainableTransport #MarineElectrification #CleanMobility #AquaSuperPower #UberBoat #NetZero

Days like this, in mid-November, explain why we do what we do. A little chilly, but calm and clear—what could be better than a quiet, electric boat gliding through the water? Together with Leo Ekbom from Brandt Båt and Aqua superPower Limited, I’ve demonstrated to KNS - Royal Norwegian Yacht Club that the coach boat of the future is already here. Paired with an Aqua charger mounted on the dock, it’s a complete solution for sailing clubs across the Nordics.

  • Aqua superPower provided DC fast charging to two VITA Power support boats at the Barcolana.   The Barcolana is a historic international sailing regatta that takes place every year in the Gulf of Trieste. It is considered the largest sailing race in the world with over two thousand boats in the water and thirty thousand sailors.    The deployment of Vita’s electric support boats and Aqua’s marine fast charging proves that electric propulsion isn’t just a future vision—it’s a practical solution making a real impact on marine events today, no matter the scale.   #SustainableBoating #MarineInnovation #electricboats #cleanboating #emarine #marinefastcharging #aquasuperpower
