The primary goal of this session was to educate our managers, enabling Nayatel to explore opportunities for hiring persons with disabilities in the future and taking another step into inclusion. When we started our company 25y back, we had very little cash. We got registered as partnership firm and to get tax number, we needed a bank account. The bank required all 3 partners to come to bank and sign papers for which we 3 cofounders visited a large bank in Blue Area Islamabad. A bank officer met us and asked multiple questions. Then he went to seek his boss approval. He came out and said “sorry, we can’t open your bank account”. “Why?” shockingly we asked. “Because you don’t have any financial backing” was the reply. “We’re not requesting a loan, just want to open a bank account with our own desposit” we pleaded. “Sorry we’re unable to do it” he curtly replied. Frustrated and rejected, we came out. We then went to couple of other banks and got similar rejection. Then a friend rescued us through his brother, who was manager of a bank branch and our bank account was opened with our own money. We thought “a day would come inshaAllah when we won’t have to request a friend’s favour to get a petty thing done, like depositing own money in a current bank account and then withdrawing it when needed”. And now by the grace of Almighty, leading banks, some of whom refused to open our account 25y back, now happily finance Nayatel because they trust our brand. The battle has been long, the struggle has been rough but results are rewarding alhamdolillah. Don’t get frustrated with failures. Work hard and smart to the best of your abilities and then trust Allah as His plan is always better.
