Love helping teams #ideate and come up with new ideas? Care about food and #sustainability? If so, then this (part-time) role might be a good fit for you! Good Growth is a boutique consultancy that supports the growth of sustainable and ethical food systems in Asia: we're looking for a Strategic Designer / Head of Strategy Studio to lead our strategy development workshops, as well as efforts to prototype and test new initiatives that will further grow this movement. This part-time role is remote with high flexibility, but candidates must be based in Asia. Please help us forward widely to anyone who you think might be interested!

  • Our new report in collaboration with Faunalytics surveyed nearly 200 animal advocacy organizations across the world, and conducted six small focus-group discussions, to explore the diverse approaches taken by farmed animal protection groups globally. Findings reveal an advocacy landscape where organizations are often implementing multiple strategies, and are also interested in exploring new approaches. Some key findings: -An organization’s capacity to explore or adopt new strategies is highly dependent on the availability of resources. Organizations frequently struggle with financial and staffing constraints that limit their ability to expand. -Advocates hoping to explore different approaches may be more interested in pursuing policy advocacy than corporate advocacy, because there are potentially fewer barriers to entry and less stigma. -Diverse global contexts restrict the viability of existing advocacy approaches in ways that foreign funders may not understand or anticipate. • We've had a great time working with The Good Food Institute APAC on a six-country mixed-methods study on Southeast Asian consumer perceptions of meat and plant-based meat consumption. Findings indicate that those most interested in and currently consume plant-based meat are more likely to be 35-44, more physically active and also perhaps surprisingly, more likely to want to consume MORE (conventional) meat. Come join the webinar this Wednesday 21 Feb at 3pm (GMT+8, HKT/SGT) to learn our finding highlights: https://lnkd.in/g4CkHBPS

🔎 New GFI APAC report explores Southeast Asia's appetite for alternative proteins. Some of the big-picture takeaways from our report: 👉 Most Southeast Asian consumers do not intend to reduce their conventional meat consumption, but those who consume conventional meat most frequently are also the most enthusiastic about plant-based meat, demonstrating that the desire for protein diversity appears higher than the desire for substitution. 👉 Plant-based meat is generally perceived as healthy, though concerns about over-processing and additives persist among more skeptical audiences. Despite high awareness, over half of the respondents have not tried plant-based meat, indicating a significant untapped market. 👉 Health is the primary driver for plant-based meat consumption. Consumers seek products that are lower in cholesterol and fat, free from chemicals, and comparable in protein content to conventional meat. 👉 Price is a critical factor in driving plant-based meat consumption. If plant-based meat achieves a 20% lower price than conventional meat, more than 80% of all consumers would buy it, including about half of those who would otherwise reject it. 👉 There is significant interest in blended meat products, which combine plant-based and conventional meat, especially among those skeptical of fully plant-based options.
