Transportation has always been essential to our customer and employee experiences. To achieve net zero by 2050, we are rethinking distribution and delivery and reducing our nonessential business travel. #NetZero #Transportation #Sustainability

Our operations bring our product designs to life, but they also generate waste in the production process. To combat this, we are investing in energy efficiency, onsite solar and waste reduction strategies to achieve our 2030 carbon-reduction goal of 50%. This near-term goal sets the foundation for our 2050 net-zero goal. #netzero #operations

On International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we thank Elena Sabinson for joining our Work Better podcast recently. Her episode, Embracing How Different Our Brains Are, is one of our most-listened episodes in the past year. Elena researches neurodiversity and is passionate about the role design can play in helping all people flourish. She teaches environmental design at the University of Colorado Boulder and was diagnosed later in life with autism and ADHD. Elena’s personal experience and research on neurodiversity, along with expertise in architecture and design gives us ideas for how the workplace can do more to support all of our different brains. We are grateful to learn alongside Elena and other partners as we advance the inclusive design practice at Steelcase. We design furnishings and solutions for the many places where work happens. The emissions from manufacturing these products make up the largest share of our overall carbon footprint.
