We’ve come over all festive here at Carlyle & Co., as we celebrated a duo of events spotlighting the incredible work that our passionate teams deliver every single day. Monday evening last week saw us take a break from hosting our Members fabulous celebrations to enjoy our own festive get-together. Over an epic local-style BBQ, our Associates came together for an unforgettable night of fun and food, and, more importantly, it offered us a well-deserved space to celebrate our amazing journey together in 2024. And earlier this week, our senior leaders were delighted to reveal a surprise gift for every Associate. In the spirit of festive giving, this small goodie bag – filled with a selection of handpicked pieces designed especially for our well-deserving teams – is just one way we’re sharing our thanks and immense gratitude to each and every one of the team. Their commitment and passion have been instrumental in our success this year and we can’t wait to see what 2025 brings. Our commitment to embracing diversity here at Carlyle & Co. culminated in two inspiring afternoons this week. On Tuesday, we invited our Senior Director of Membership & Marketing, Kimberly Hu, and Senior Housekeeping Manager, Becky Lai – both incredible working mothers – to a fireside chat as part of our Employee Resource Group (ERG), Rosewood Women. Joined by their fellow Associates, this intimate conversation opened up the floor to an insightful exchange about the joys and challenges of their roles at work and at home; the importance of time management and prioritisation; and how the workplace can offer flexibilities that support a healthy work-life relationship. The very next day, we opened up the floor for our leaders and representatives of the LGBTQ+ community, all whilst using the session as an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the many, many different perspectives and cultures that exist within the Carlyle & Co. team. It’s when we come together and take the time to listen to perspectives unlike our own that connection can earnestly begin to take hold, and it was a pleasure to have had so many of our Associates join us this week as we continue to push forward on fostering our culture of inclusivity. #Carlyleandco #DEI #RosewoodWomen #RosewoodPride

We were back in the kitchen with Food Angel last week as part of their incredibly worthwhile mission in supporting Hong Kong’s local underprivileged community through food. Last month, we immersed ourselves in the task of preparing and sorting raw vegetables, whilst this session saw our Associates extend their hands in service by distributing meals to vulnerable elderly individuals. It was our pleasure to meet so many older members of our community, as we served dishes, cleared tables and spoke with them across a morning of volunteering support. Our ongoing partnership with Food Angel is a source of great passion and pride for so many Carlyle & Co. What a week we’ve had! Whilst Typhoon Yagi continues to skirt Hong Kong, we are also celebrating an impressive win for our culinary and wine teams – led by Executive Chef Gregor, Director of Wine Leo and Head Sommelier Taka – who have been honoured in the Wine Pairing Sensations Awards 2024, with two well-deserved podiums. For our sparkling wine pairing, Carlyle & Co. placed first, as the winner of the Best Sparkling Wine Pairing category. Next up, we are delighted to have placed in the premier Top 12 Pairing Sensations, overall, for our trio of entries across the competition, which welcomed a huge number of entries from across Hong Kong’s best restaurants and bars. We’re delighted to have joined the Food Angel team recently for an afternoon supporting their worthwhile social enterprise, saving edible surplus food from different sectors of the food industry that would otherwise be disposed of as waste. Following strict safety protocols, the rescued food items are prepared into nutritious meals before being distributed to support Hong Kong’s underprivileged communities.   On 24 July, five of our Carlyle & Co. Hong Kong Associates volunteered to prepare and sort raw vegetables in Food Angel’s kitchen. In three hours’ time, we peeled more than a hundred carrots and potatoes, doing our small part to support the charity’s incredibly valuable work. It was an afternoon well spent, and we were thrilled to connect with a cause that embodies our shared values of supporting sustainable food practices in a way that benefits our local community.
