Sunday Reflection: An Intentional Brand Experience Today, I attended a Cardio class at Nordic Strong and arrived at the intersection of two different classes and a saunagus session. The studio was wonderfully packed with the best vibe—a mix of energetic chatter and a sense of community all around. It made me pause to reflect on the experience we’re creating at Nordic Strong. Nordic Strong is more than just a fitness studio; it embodies the Nordic way of life. Some of my favorite moments in life are spent with family and friends in the Norwegian mountains or cozied up at home, preferably by a fireplace, enjoying what we Scandinavians call "hygge." It’s simple, but that’s what the Nordic lifestyle is about: comfort, connection, and nature. When we built Nordic Strong as a brand, we wanted to create that feeling in every detail of our studio experience. Of course, the workout itself is crucial, but so is everything around the workout. In every room of our studio, we aim to evoke specific feelings in our members. Our reception is filled with "hygge"—a warm, welcoming space where our team greets guests in a heartfelt and personal way. We’ve added small touches that reflect the Nordic lifestyle. Whether you come in feeling down and need a hug, want to share a story, or just have a laugh, we’re here for it. As you move into the studio waiting area, the vibe shifts. You’re met with sensory details inspired by the Nordics—raw, dark spaces reminiscent of mountains, with sounds, scents, and lighting that reflect the beauty of Nordic landscapes. We want to prepare our members for the workout ahead, helping them set their mindset and focus. Our glacier hallway leads you into the studio, where the lighting mimics the captivating Northern Lights. Nature is a huge source of inspiration for me, especially the landscapes of Vestlandet in Norway. The often cold, rainy weather teaches strength and resilience—qualities I wanted to be reflected through our studio experience. Cold plunging, or as we like to call it, winter swimming, has been a favorite Nordic pastime for centuries—originally a way to prepare for those long, cold winters. During a "blackout" moment in today's class, in which the instructor turned off all the lights, leaving only the sound of music and the slight hum of our Nordic Trainers as people pushed themselves. I closed my eyes and felt the energy in the room—it reminded me of those moments just before reaching the top of a hike or ski tour when you’re pushing yourself, feeling the wind, and encouraging each other to keep going. When the Northern Lights-inspired lighting came back on, perfectly timed with the music drop, it gave me goosebumps. Seeing our members, who were just sharing laughs in the reception, now pushing their limits and building strength, was a powerful reminder of why being intentional with every aspect of the brand experience matters. Just little Sunday note - wishing all a beautiful sunday <3
