Very happy to have represented Green2x during Kaplak Ventures' Climate Tech Catalyzer, where we have gained a lot of new insights into the US biofuels market to support and shape our future go-to-market strategies. I can definitely recommend climate tech start-ups and scale-ups to look into Kaplak's coming programs if US market expansion is in any way on the horizon! Thank you to Shai, Matthew, the rest of the Kaplak and Joseph for your great sparring during the program. And to the inspiring founders and leaders from the other cohort companies as well Crestwing, Eupry, Clause Out, OceanWide Seaweed ApS, Trebo and Goodwings 💥 👏

  • A few weeks ago, Green2x's CCO, Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig and Head of Business Development, Tobias Bo Jensen presented at the annual theme day of DanskHalm in Maribo, to share our perspectives on using agricultural residues such as straw to produce large quantities of biofuels. At the session both suppliers and offtakers of straw as well as equipment providers and academic researchers were present, ensuring a wide representation of the various actors from the straw industry. "We are always happy to engage with the Danish straw community. It was especially encouraging to see the industry's big focus on long-term optimal usage of the carbon in agricultural residues, something that we believe is closely aligned with the Green2x mission. Thank you to Thomas Holst and the rest of DanskHalm for inviting us and to all the participants for the great questions," says Tobias Bo Jensen. Green2x is on a mission to decarbonize hard to abate sectors and fossil fuels by producing green biofuels such as biomethane and biomethanol. • Thank you to Carolina Wistén and Mattias Wesslau from Nordion Energi for hosting us at Gasmarknadsrådet in Malmö. Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, CCO, and Tobias Bo Jensen, Head of Business Development, presented Green2x's plans to develop large-scale biofuel plants - highlighting the current progress for the first site located at the Port of Vordingborg, Denmark, where the biogenic CO2 will be used in synergy with Arcadia eFuels' production - and the announcement of our second site in collaboration with CMP located in Malmö, Sweden. At the session, participants from all sectors of the gas ecosystem were present, including offtakers, balancing administrators, authorities, grid operators, and biogas producers. This cross-industry collaboration is, in our view, essential to driving the green transition forward. "Close dialogue and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders are prerequisites for succeeding with huge projects like those we are developing at Green2x. I am very pleased that Carolina invited us to present our current plans and to hear the thoughts of key actors in the Swedish gas market," says Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig. Green2x utilizes biomass residuals, such as leftover straw sourced from farmers, converting them into biofuels like biomethane and biomethanol, along with biogenic CO2 for the PtX sector. • Once again, thanks to Port of Vordingborg for hosting an inspirational day, opening up the harbor for the local community, and giving Green2x the opportunity to present our future project. We still cannot believe the overwhelming support and interest we received from all the visitors on a day when 10,000 people decided to stop by the venue. Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, Finn Milling Christensen and Morten Holm were ready to share more about how we plan to produce ~170M m³ of biomethane and ~340k tons of biogenic CO2 at the Port of Vordingborg in a coming years. Here, we aim to drive the green transition and decarbonize the hard-to-electrify sectors using our groundbreaking technology, which utilizes straw, currently left unused in the fields, as input for production. Thank you to Port of Vordingborg, Vejdirektoratet, Business Vordingborg, Vordingborg Kommune, and all our excellent partners for a fantastic day!

  • Exciting News! 🍀 Green2x is proud to announce a long-term biomethane offtake partnership with ReFuels N.V, a key player in Europe's renewable biomethane market. The collaboration involves a long-term biomethane supply and offtake partnership, aiming to accelerate the decarbonization of the UK road transport sector - and is an important milestone for Green2x, proving that the market sees potential in green fuels at scale. At Green2x, we specialize in large-scale bio-fuel production, utilizing cutting-edge technology to turn agricultural leftovers into energy. “The commercial cooperation between Green2x and ReFuels N.V is our largest offtake agreement to date and part of the strategy to ensure sufficient biomethane supply for our rapidly growing demand, driven by fleet owners looking for an economically viable solution to decarbonize their operations. Further, it demonstrates that our biomethane offtake experience and Bio-CNG station infrastructure make us an attractive counterparty for large biomethane offtake agreements,” said Jasper Nillesen, Executive Director of ReFuels. “I am extremely pleased with this strategic partnership, as Green2x and ReFuels N.V share a mission to decarbonize hard-to-abate industries, such as heavy road transport. We have a like-minded approach to developing the market for green fuels, and I look forward to continuing to push this ambitious agenda together,” said Mikkel Sjølin Kiil, CEO of Green2x. At Green2x, we are on a journey to develop one of the world’s largest biomethane production plants at the Port of Vordingborg from a cutting-edge technology extracting energy from agricultural leftovers, such as straw, which remains unused on the field after harvesting. •   A big thank you to the Biogas Solutions Research Center for hosting us in Linköping during their workshop on "Biomass Residues to Bioenergy" Green2x's CCO, Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig, and Head of Business Development, Tobias Bo Jensen, were invited to share Green2x's perspectives on using large quantities of straw for bioenergy and our insights on building up the supply chain.   Here are some key takeaways from the session: ☘ Green2x’s efficient process and the high energy density of straw enable very large-scale production. Green2x’ first plant in Vordingborg Port will become the world's largest biogas plant at full-scale capacity ☘ There are abundant straw resources in Europe and the Baltic Sea area, much of which is currently not being utilized. ☘ It is possible to retrieve sufficient straw without compromising soil organic carbon levels and soil fertility. ☘ Green2x works closely with the agricultural industry and is interested in long-term, stable contracts with fair prices for all parties. ☘ We plan to ramp up straw usage over time to ensure the smooth implementation of large volumes.   "We are very happy to engage with cutting-edge researchers in the field of biogas solutions and to hear their input on our plans for developing large-scale biofuel plants in Denmark and Sweden using only straw as feedstock. Thank you to Thomas Prade, Anna Eronn, and the rest of the BSRC for inviting us and for the interesting discussions," says Niklas Ahlefeldt-Laurvig.   Green2x is on a mission to decarbonize the gas industry with new scalable technology that can transform agricultural leftovers, such as straw or other cellulose-based feedstocks, into green biofuels like methane and CO2, or upgrade them to methanol. Green2x is currently preparing for its first site at Port of Vordingborg, where Arcadia eFuels is also present, followed by a second site recently announced at Malmö Port in collaboration with Copenhagen Malmö Port.   Remember to click “follow” to see news on our journey to scale biofuels globally
