Copenhagen Offshore Partners is a world leader in the development and construction of offshore wind projects.
Om os
We develop offshore wind projects. We’re not an energy utility. We don't develop every renewable energy technology. But in seventeen offices across four continents, we are advancing an offshore wind development portfolio of 50GW and counting, which includes some of the world's most groundbreaking projects. Right now the Vineyard Wind 1 project is advancing through construction as the first commercial-scale offshore wind farm in the United States. Pentland in Scotland is to become the world's largest floating farm when constructed. And in Asia, both Korea's Jeonnam 1 project and Taiwan’s Changfang Xidao and Zhong Neng projects are in active construction. But that’s just the project side of the story. Ultimately we are a people business, entrusting our future to the passion and boldness of our team. In just eight short years we’ve grown exponentially – from an 8-person startup boasting some of industry’s most skilled and accomplished offshore wind veterans, to one of the most trusted and globally experienced teams in our industry, with 400+ employees across 41 nationalities. Together, we are unleashing offshore wind around the world and accelerating the global energy transition.

This week, COP Japan CEO Clement Helbig de Balzac spoke at the NIKKEI FORUM about the importance of partnerships and close stakeholder collaboration to advance the offshore wind industry in Japan. Clement pointed to the importance of strengthening regulations to focus on project deliverability and the need to enhance incentives for corporate offtake, measures which are vital to grow the supply chain and reach Japan’s ambitious net-zero emissions goals. Thank you to panellists Tetsuya Suwabe, President at Eurus Energy Holdings, Noriyoshi FUKUOKA, Director of the Wind Energy Project Promotion Office at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and moderator Kentaro Ogura, editor-in-chief of Nikkei GX, for a great discussion. #COProjects #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #Hokkaido #NikkeiForum #NikkeiForumAsia #北海道

We are excited to announce a power purchase agreement for 250 MW of renewable energy has been secured between Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Google NL on behalf of the Zeevonk project in the Netherlands. Read more about the news here: https://lnkd.in/dvpW4SRe “This is an important milestone for the Zeevonk partnership and the future of the energy transition in Europe,” said Keld Bennetsen, Senior Vice President and Europe Market Lead at COP. “We need dynamic solutions to achieve our climate and renewable goals. The Zeevonk project is doing just this, first with the dynamic structure of the project itself and now with this power purchase agreement with Google.” COP is developing Zeevonk on behalf of the project’s partners, CIP and Vattenfall. Zeevonk was awarded in June 2024 and is a project that blends offshore wind, solar energy, and green hydrogen at scale in the Netherlands. It consists of a 2 GW offshore wind farm and a 50 MWp floating offshore solar farm located 62 km off the Dutch coast. A significant part of the electricity generated by the offshore wind and solar farm will be converted into green hydrogen at a large-scale electrolyser plant at the port of Rotterdam. #Zeevonk #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreWind #EnergyTransition #COProjects #GreenHydrogen #GreenEconomy

ICYMI: We're thrilled to share the Fengmiao I Offshore Wind Farm signed a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with Sino American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) and its renewable energy subsidiary, Sustainable Energy Solution (SES). This marks a transformative shift in approach, moving from traditional electricity sales to direct sales to corporations. Located 35 km off the coast of Taichung City, Fengmiao I will feature 33 wind turbines totaling 500 MW of capacity. The project is expected to reach completion by the end of 2027, ensuring a reliable, renewable power supply for Taiwanese companies. A huge thank you to our incredible team and partners for their dedication and hard work, which made this significant accomplishment possible. Together, we're leading the charge towards accelerating the global energy transition! Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners #COProjects #Fengmiao1 #OffshoreWind #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #Taiwan

🎧 Hear COP Germany Market Director, Dr. Elmar Friedrich, discuss the role of Energy Islands in Europe's green transition with CISC Vice President Governmental Affairs, Dr. Klaus U. Hachmeier on the newest episode of Renewable Energy Hamburg’s ‘New Energy from Hamburg’ podcast. [podcast in German] Highlights from the conversation: - Energy Islands matter for Europe because they provide innovative solutions to reach the continent`s Net Zero goals by 2050. Integrating offshore wind and green hydrogen production into Energy islands will enhance cost efficiency and flexibility. - The concept of Energy Islands was pioneered in Belgium where innovations in offshore energy integration laid the foundation for this transformative idea. Today, in Germany, these innovations are addressing critical challenges in the energy transition to enhance deployment speed, manage intermittency, and reduce hydrogen production costs . - Key regulatory hurdles remain for the realization of Energy islands due to challenges to develop necessary infrastructure and establish reliable hydrogen transport pipelines. - The future looks promising – the market expects Energy islands to be operating in Belgium by 2035, with additional projects underway across Europe and Asia. At this time, replacement of offshore systems with Energy islands will create annual system savings of over 4 billion EUR. Energy Islands represent a crucial advancement toward a sustainable, secure, and economically robust energy future.
