🎄 Merry Christmas from the V-Quest Team! 🎄 At V-Quest, we thrive on data and love a good challenge. So when the North Pole reached out for help reducing their carbon footprint, we knew it was a project worth taking on. Here’s what our analysis revealed: 🎅 Santa’s Sleigh: Those reindeer might be iconic, but they emit CO₂e (thanks, methane). An EV upgrade might be in order, Santa! ☃️ Snowman: Surprisingly heavy and more costly than you'd expect. He’s also understandably anxious about climate change. 🎄 Christmas Tree: If it’s real, it’s a carbon-storing champion. If it’s fake… well, maybe don’t ask. Our COO took on this "critical" analysis, and as he put it - "I had to hide concrete in Santa's sleigh and the Snowman’s arse, to make this analysis work — a sentence I never thought I’d say out loud." On that note, we hope you enjoy a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and maybe even a bit of carbon consciousness. We’ll see you all in 2025 for more projects, partnerships, and progress. Happy Holidays from all of us at V-Quest! 🎉🎄🎅

Carbon Flow Podcast #3 On this episode we speak to Katie Symons from the NZ Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). We talk about the Emission Reduction Plan and the future of the legislation. We also speak about the resources that are out there for designers and contractors wanting to decarbonise their projects. Most importantly we talk about what is happening internationally. You can follow the Podcast on Spotify, YouTube and on our website news. RM DESIGN'S FIRST 4 DAYS! In mid-2024, RM Design started using V-Quest. This is how they started: Day 1: - Downloaded the V-Quest app - Requested onboarding & training Day 2: - Prevented 80 tons of carbon, made impossible project possible. Day 3: - Completed onboarding and training. Day 4: - Call V-Quest and give feedback: "With V-Quest, in two hours, we did what would normally take us two weeks. Unless you have a tight familiar consultant team, the likely cost of this would be around $10,000." Bernie O'Fagan. Day 2 and 3 aren’t the wrong way around. Rachel Mechen at RM Designs just got stuck in as soon as she got V-Quest installed. She found it so easy to use that she didn't need the onboarding or training. If you are battling with complicated carbon solutions or wanting to start your carbon management journey, give V-Quest a go and get days, weeks and months back. V-Quest gets real results!
Discussed Solutions vs. Real Solutions! All of the following have been proposed by international politicians. - Lets move earth's orbit - Remove the wind turbines, the noise causes cancer - Use a vacuum to suck the co2 out - Move everyone inland - Install a giant mirror - Install giant freezers on the poles These positions may be amusing, but they highlight a larger issue — too much focus on far-fetched ideas and not enough action on real, practical solutions. Using lower carbon materials in our buildings and infrastructure is a real solution. V-Quest makes it easy. We empower architects, engineers, and contractors to make sustainable choices that are not only better for the planet but also more cost-effective. We know it will be cheaper to save the world than to destroy it and we can prove that it already is. Let’s make 2025 the year we take action, not just talk. Yesterday we met with Labour MPs Reuben Davidson (spokesperson for digital economy) and Arena Williams (spokesperson for building and construction) to brief them on V-Quest and it's ability to identify huge missed opportunities to decarbonise New Zealand’s construction industry. We highlighted how with V-Quest users can complete design optimisation and build strong business cases that prove it is cheaper to save the planet than to destroy it. Discussions covered building standard changes, including earthquake resilience and fire safety, the potential of mass timber, and global advancements in government support for EPD production. We also got to voice our disappointment at the closure of MBIE’s Building for Climate Change Program—a critical initiative for reducing building emissions in New Zealand. It’s clear there’s a need for urgent action and leadership to drive sustainable change in our industry. #climatechange #Construction #NZ, #LabourNZ

Education User. Otago Polytech were one of our earliest adopters. They'd been trying other carbon measurement tools and struggling to find ways to adequately teach them. They trialed V-Quest and have been using it ever since. V-Quest can be used earlier in the design process than any other tool available anywhere in the world.
