Do you know what Santa will be bringing with him this Christmas? 🎅 Just like Santa and Rudolf, visitors to your farm may have been to many other properties before coming to yours. Farm visitors can unknowingly transport more than just holiday cheer. Dirty boots, trucks driving farm to farm, or supplies from an unreliable provider. They could be carrying unexpected - and unwelcome - hitchhikers! A visitor register helps keep track of who and what is coming and going on your farm. AUSVEG has partnered with Onside to evaluate how farm visitor check-ins can be used to support quick decision making and a more rapid return to trade for farms when a new pest arrives. Vegetable growers: You can connect to Onside for free here: https://lnkd.in/ge_jPPiC This free tool helps you: ▪️Digitally map your farm boundaries and blocks ▪️Monitor movements of people, plant material, equipment as they check- in on site, no matter where you are ▪️Streamline your farm biosecurity ▪️Visitors download the Onside app or use a unique QR code to check in to the property VegWatch: https://lnkd.in/gZduuWzi Merry Christmas to smart farming! 🎅🥬 VegWatch (VG22004) is funded by Hort Innovation using the vegetable research and development levy and funds from the Australian Government.

  • Avian influenza rearing its head in NZ is a biosecurity wake-up call for the industry. With Australia having fought their own outbreaks, poultry giant Darwalla Group is taking no chances with how they protect Queensland’s food supply. Using Onside’s best-in-class digital traceability features, Darwalla can: - Track and trace every movement on and off their properties, from people to trucks to machinery - Get real-time visibility for quick responses during disease threats. - Give regulators and government instant, clear data during investigations. Staying one step ahead of outbreaks is critical in keeping biosecurity rock solid. Hear from the people making it happen, and why digital tracing is essential for the poultry and livestock industry. Protecting our food supply is a collective effort, and Darwalla is leading the way.

  • Congratulations to the Southern NSW Innovation Hub for winning a 2024 Australian Biosecurity award for the Managing Biosecurity Risks project! A key part of the initiative was the Track & Trace pilot where Onside was used by the NSW wine industry across the Tumbarumba, Canberra, Orange and Mudgee grape growing regions. “NSW Wine, NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Onside and the Hub team all came together on Track & Trace with an absolute commitment that we could achieve better biosecurity outcomes if we engaged the supply chain and community in preparedness activities,” Cindy Cassidy said. “The project demonstrated how we can create value and opportunity for community members to be more aware of biosecurity risks and be more active in managing them. The bonus was that through this initiative we recognised its national applicability.” We’re proud to have provided the tech solution for the project to help improve traceability and increase the speed of tracking to reduce biosecurity threats and its impact on the community. We're thrilled to announce that we’ve been recognised with an Australian Biosecurity Award from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry for our Managing Biosecurity Risks project. At the heart of biosecurity is protecting our environment, communities, and economy from pests, diseases, and weeds. Everyone plays a part in identifying and managing risks to keep our regions safe and resilient. That’s why the Track & Trace pilot was developed, a groundbreaking approach to biosecurity management that addresses gaps in early detection and rapid response, empowering farmers, communities, and supply chains to act quickly when biosecurity threats emerge. NSW Wine, NSW DPI, Onside and the Hub team all came together on Track & Trace with an absolute commitment that we could achieve better biosecurity outcomes if we engaged the supply chain and community in preparedness activities. Today we say farewell to an Onside legend - Ophelia Fishsimmons, our Key Account Manager who is relocating to Auckland to begin a new journey. Fi’s experience at Onside is a testament to growth, connection, and high performance. Fresh from her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Canterbury, she started alongside fellow graduate Euan McRobbie in 2021. Looking back at a photo from her first day, Fi laughs, “If I could go back to my first day, I’d tell myself to relax and be myself. I was so nervous for my first month that I barely spoke in the office. Little did I know Onside would love the vibrant energy I bring.” Fi's first role as a Business Development Representative was all about learning the ropes. “If the graduate Onside hired walked through the door right now I wouldn’t recognise her. Onside has helped me grow in all the best ways while still loving me for who I am. I became a better me,” she reflects. She embraced the unique mix of support and candour in Onside’s culture, where praise and honest feedback work hand-in-hand. As her confidence and skills grew, so did her role within the company. Identified early as a high-performer by CEO Ryan Higgs, Fi rose quickly, taking on greater responsibilities and eventually becoming a Key Account Manager for Onside’s largest customers. Ryan says “It is her insatiable hunger for feedback that fuels her growth and helps her to perform at the edge.” We know Fi’s customers will miss her sense of humour and infectious energy. “Fi's personal growth and commitment to customers in her time with Onside has been inspirational, she's leaving behind a great legacy and very happy customers,” says Guy Davidson, Head of Customer at Onside. “Although it's sad to see Fi leave, we're all super excited to watch her continue to go from strength to strength in her new role at Uber.“ Throughout her time at Onside, Fi’s journey was shaped by mentors like Guy, who she believes guidance was instrumental in her development. "He inspired and supported me and has had a huge impact on my journey,”she says. Fi’s most profound takeaway? Staying curious. "Over time, I learned that real progress happens when you listen, understand, and ask the right questions. Onside taught me the value of genuine curiosity, and that’s something I’ll bring to every interaction moving forward." As she departs, Fi offers a word of advice to her Onside team - “Embrace change and say yes to new opportunities. In a scale-up, every twist and turn is a chance to learn. Trust that each challenge is an opportunity to grow.” Onside couldn’t be prouder of Fi’s journey and the mark she’s left on the company and our customers. As she moves from the Garden City (Christchurch) to the City of Sails (Auckland), joining Uber as Mid-Market Account Manager, she’ll always be celebrated as an Onside legend. Congratulations on your new opportunity Fi, from the bottom of our hearts. Uber, you’ve got a good one. #teamonside #leaveproudly #farewell
