  • This week with AU VIEUX CAMPEUR in Paris, we hosted a special pre-release screening of our documentary DOWNSTREAM, created in collaboration with Protect Our Winters Europe and The VF Foundation. The event gave guests a chance to connect with a story that emphasizes the urgent need to protect our planet. Set to premiere on December 6th, the film follows hydro-ecologist Dr. Juliette Becquet as she uncovers the wide-reaching effects of glacier loss on ecosystems, communities, and the planet.   • 🌍 Our Global Brand President, Jan Van Mossevelde, recently spoke at the International Cryosphere Climate Initiative panel in the Blue Zone at COP29 Azerbaijan, highlighting icebreaker’s commitment to protecting our planet and announcing the upcoming release of DOWNSTREAM, a powerful documentary created in collaboration with Protect Our Winters Europe, icebreaker and The VF Foundation. The film, premiering publicly on December 6th, follows hydro-ecologist Dr. Juliette Becquet on her journey to uncover the far-reaching impacts of glacier loss, connecting us all to the urgent need for action. “At icebreaker, we’ve been crafting merino-based performance apparel for 30 years, inspired by one simple belief: nature has the answers. Our journey began in New Zealand with a promise to champion a more natural way of living—a movement that still guides us today. This belief is an invitation for everyone, expressed in countless ways, to reconnect with nature. We’ve always known that by helping nature take care of itself, it, in turn, takes care of us,” - said Jan Van Mossevelde - “That’s why protecting outdoor spaces and glaciers is deeply personal to us.     Following their daring expedition to Svalbard last year, adventurers Moritz & Jonas are back with a new film, in collaboration with icebreaker and Globetrotter Ausrüstung This past August, they spent six weeks in New Zealand filming ‘Merino Trails’, a documentary that dives into the story of icebreaker and the magic of merino wool. The film showcases ethical sheep farming and the sustainable production of this incredible fibre, all surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. This project was made possible thanks to our partner The New Zealand Merino Company whose commitment to sustainability and excellence brings the story of merino to life.   • Last week, we brought icebreaker’s story to life in the heart of Paris. In the vibrant Saint-Germain district, we took over a beautiful art gallery, transforming it into an immersive space to share our brand story and our commitment to natural performance. Our evening kicked off with an intimate dinner with leading journalists from various media outlets, where we shared stories, ideas, and a look into our vision with Jan Van Mossevelde, our Global Brand President, and Juan Teulón Ramírez, EMEA Head of Marketing. The next morning, we kicked off the day with a group of incredible KOLs, starting with an energizing run, followed by yoga and a peaceful meditation session. It was a special chance for everyone to experience the benefits of natural fibres first-hand, moving together in our ZoneKnit™ Seamless Set made from merino wool and other natural and plant-based fibres. The comfort, breathability, and connection to nature felt in every step reminded us why we choose to Move To Natural. A big thank you to everyone who joined us in making this experience so memorable.   • A great event for trail running enthusiasts in Annecy! Our icebreaker store in Annecy had the pleasure of hosting an exclusive run with professional trail runner Yoann Stuck. With a strong record in major races like UTMB and Marathon des Sables, Yoann has been competing in icebreaker merino wool gear for over two years now, demonstrating its performance in even the toughest conditions. A group of 20 runners joined Yoann for a run through the stunning trails of Annecy, followed by an insightful talk where Yoann shared his experiences from the world’s most challenging races, the obstacles he faces, and how the right apparel—like merino wool and other natural fibers—plays a crucial role in optimizing performance.   • Planting seeds for the future! We're proud to support the Cardrona Foundation's 'Plant a seed' event, which took place in October as part of their ongoing efforts to offset the environmental impact of New Zealand's largest ski field. The annual event marks the end of the ski season and is dedicated to replanting native vegetation, building a tree nursery at the base of the mountain, and educating the next generation on environmental stewardship. At icebreaker, we believe that connecting with nature is at the core of our purpose, and this partnership reflects our commitment to sustainability. Cardrona Alpine Resort's vision for the future includes planting 1,000 native plants ove the next five years and reseeding 50 hectares of disturbed land by 2024.
