This week, we launched our collaboration with ROA Hiking, unveiling an exciting new colorway for the Timp 5 GTX silhouette. Born from a shared reverence for nature’s transformative power, the ROA x Altra collaboration brings together our distinctive design philosophies. The partnership leverages ROA’s expertise in rugged sophistication and Altra’s legacy of enhancing natural biomechanics to create a shoe that bridges the gap between aesthetic appeal and uncompromising performance. This iteration of the Timp 5 draws inspiration from the design systems found in nature, particularly the muted tones and organic patterns observed during time spent in the mountains. This perspective is embodied in the shoe’s brown colorway, which uses ROA’s signature blocking technique to enhance the innovative form of Altra’s Timp 5 silhouette while showcasing ROA’s signature aesthetic, creating a harmonious balance of natural elegance and technical precision. Last weekend, we took to the mountains of Colorado for the inaugural Camp We Run Long. Our mission was simple yet profound: to create a space where 25 BIPOC trail runners could feel truly empowered and embraced. What unfolded was beyond our wildest dreams. The weekend was a tapestry of shared life stories, heartfelt connections, and the invigorating challenge of the West Line Winder. It was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from community, from vulnerability, and from celebrating one another. Together, we didn't just run—we forged bonds that will last a lifetime. #StayOutThere

ALTRA x NICOLE MCLAUGHLIN Upcycling Workshop — September 26 — Denver, CO We had a great time at our upcycling workshop in collaboration with Nicole McLaughlin. With Nicole leading the way, the workshop gave our guests an opportunity to create an upcycled water bottle holder using salvaged footwear materials from Altra’s development lab. The purpose of this workshop was to focus on the importance of sustainable design and to inspire new ways of thinking about waste reduction. Photos by Amanda Villarosa

On September 21, 2024, in the dead of night, Altra Elite Athlete, Tara Dower, completed her trek of the relentless and strenuous 2,197.4-mile Appalachian Trail. Her determination, grit, and positive attitude got her to the southern end of the trail in just 40 days, 18 hours, and 5 minutes. This incredible completion time not only awards her the Fastest Known Time (FKT) for the AT, but also smashes the overall record for the trail.   Averaging about 54 miles per day, Tara beat the trail record made by Karel Sabbe in 2018 by more than 13 hours. But she wasn’t just out there to prove she could win the title. She set out on this journey to raise money for Girls on the Run, a non-profit program that inspires girls from all backgrounds through running.   Tara raised $21,076 for Girls on the Run International surpassing her $20,000 goal. To celebrate Tara’s extraordinary accomplishment, Altra is proud to stand by her side and show our support. We’re excited to announce that we will be matching the funds Tara raised during her journey for Girls on the Run, doubling the impact of her incredible effort. Thank you, Tara, for showing us that no trail is too tough, no dream too big. You are a generous inspiration who is redefining what is possible. ✨MAGIC✨ Altra Running and Public Lands brought some trail magic to the Pacific Crest Trail near Medford, Oregon. Hikers enjoyed a refreshing break with fresh meals, cold drinks, and a shady retreat from the summer heat. This elevated trailside support station also featured a chance to meet the inspiring thru-hike legend Briana DeSanctis. The event celebrated the goodwill of trail angels and brought joy to those trekking across the PCT. #StayOutThere
