"The Amendment Act provides an extension to the remediation deadlines for earthquake-prone buildings by 4 years (except buildings with notices that expired on or before 1 April 2024). The extension aims to provide clarity and certainty to building owners and territorial authorities, while the review of the management of seismic risk in existing buildings takes place." Thanks to the Jobs and Skills Hubs team for helping us organise a recent student open day. 30 year 12 and 13 students from six Auckland schools joined us to find out more about pathways into the design industry.   We ended the day with an interactive session, asking the students to split into groups and create the perfect bedroom for a teenager. It was great to see that sustainability was a big feature in the designs, with treetop living, solar panels and veggie gardens aplenty. Our favourite was the bedroom on the Moon – well, we did ask them to think laterally, and they certainly did! #designcareers #designforthefuture #designforlife
