Today marks the second day of our intensive technical discussions with a dedicated Tax Technical Team, ahead of our engagement with the Presidential Commission on Tax Reforms. This team, comprising tax practitioners and policy experts from leading Business Associations, tax-advisory firms, and esteemed Research and Academic institutions, is focused on evaluating and prioritizing critical tax reform proposals. Our goal? To enhance an effective tax system and foster an environment conducive to business growth. Over the past two days, we've concentrated on key tax challenges affecting Tanzanian businesses, which can be categorized into several priorities: 1️⃣ Simplifying tax return and payment processes to boost voluntary compliance and stimulate business growth. 2️⃣ Suggesting fiscal policy adjustments that unlock sectoral potential and enhance competitiveness both locally and regionally. 3️⃣ Promoting formal employment by reducing costs associated with the current fiscal regime. 4️⃣ Enhancing dispute resolution processes to minimize taxpayer costs during settlements. 5️⃣ Advocating for a friendly tax regime that encourages local companies to explore regional and international markets. 6️⃣ Proposing incentives for local companies to expand globally and attract multinational corporations to establish regional or Africa headquarters in Tanzania. Through these efforts, TPSF aims to increase government revenue, empower businesses of all sizes, create quality jobs, and elevate Tanzania’s attractiveness to both domestic and foreign investors. We are also committed to promoting Tanzanian investment growth in regional markets. A heartfelt thank you to TradeMark Africa (TMA) for their unwavering support of private sector-led reforms. Together, we can build a brighter economic future! Kennedy Rwehumbiza Godfrey Mondi #TaxReforms #TPSF #Tanzania #PrivateSector #BusinessGrowth #InvestmentOpportunity #TradeMarkAfrica #pwc #EY #KPMG
