Reflecting on Founder’s Day at Hines when, every year, we honor the life and work of our founder, Gerald D. Hines. The Hines Czechia team has embodied his remarkable legacy of giving back to communities through various volunteering initiatives this year. Most recently, we spent the day at Kamenitý vrch, a non-profit organization focused on providing equine therapy for children and adults with specific needs. Our task was to clear a paddock of trees and bushes, making room for the horses to graze. The physical work was tough and made a change from our desk jobs. Embracing the pioneering spirit of Gerald D. Plenty of growth in store 📦 We believe long-term demographic trends are likely to drive increased demand for self-storage in Europe. Gregory Cooper, Managing Director, Hines United Kingdom, spoke to PropertyEU about our plans to scale-up a UK self-storage portfolio, beginning in densely populated commuter towns where large-scale housing development is expected to increase local populations significantly. Greg commented on the future opportunity to aggregate a pan-European portfolio on behalf of our Hines European Real Estate Partners III (HEREP III) Fund, leveraging Hines’ skillset and local “boots-on-the-ground” approach to take advantage of a highly fragmented market.
